The Marshal’s Wife is Wild Chapter 26

Chapter 26: Chapter 25 It’s him!_2 Chapter 26: Chapter 25 It’s him!_2 Qu Tong followed the gaze and saw a man dressed in a black jacket and wearing sunglasses lounging on a sofa, his head propped up by a pillow, being leisurely fed strawberries by a sexy woman.

Hearing this, Hao Liang pulled down his sunglasses to glance over at the counter, then put them back on, took a strawberry from the woman’s hand, and stuffed it into his mouth as he walked towards Qu Tong.

“Xu An’s sister?” Hao Liang said, with a ruffian tone, looking down at Qu Tong through his sunglasses.

Hao Liang was tall and burly, and Qu Tong, with her current height, only came up to his chest. Qu Tong took two steps back and responded, “Yes.”

“Follow me.”

Hao Liang grabbed some keys from a drawer beside the counter and strode out ahead.

The two arrived at a private room, and once the door was shut, it blocked out the noise from outside.

Hao Liang threw his sunglasses aside and sized up Qu Tong.

Her gaze was direct and unabashed, seemingly unfazed and indifferent, and she took the opportunity to size up the man before her as well.

In his twenties, not a bad-looking face, wheatish skin, eyes and eyebrows that bore a certain fierceness, and a physique that clearly belonged to someone who trained.

“You’ve got some courage, daring to come here alone. Sit down, little sister.”

Qu Tong, not the least bit coy, sat down diagonally across from Hao Liang.

Hao Liang took a box from underneath the coffee table and, while opening it, asked, “What kind of identity do you want?”

“Female, 18-28 years old, name Jun Li, ‘Jun’ as in ‘monarch’, ‘Li’ as in ‘pear blossom’.” Qu Tong stated her request.

Hao Liang looked up at Qu Tong and asked, “That’s it?”

“That’s it.”

“Wait here.”

Hao Liang left Qu Tong in the private room, taking the contents he had unpacked with him.

In a little while, Hao Liang came back out and tossed a card the size of a bank card and a silver bracelet to Qu Tong.

“Take a look. The usage is the same as a cyber-brain, if you don’t like the appearance you can buy another one.”

In the center of the card was a small square piece of metal, with a little hole in the upper right corner.

The bracelet was silver, with stripes of rose gold, clearly designed with females in mind.

The chip and bracelet relationship was somewhat like that of a SIM card and a cell phone, with the bracelet simply being a vessel for the chip, which could be swapped out for a variety of appearances; some even have the chip embedded in a bracelet to wear.

Qu Tong followed the instructions to activate it and checked the information, finding no issues.

“Your brother has already paid the fee.” Hao Liang, not sure when, had begun munching on a box of strawberries again, legs crossed, and watched Qu Tong with interest.

Qu Tong recognized the strawberries in Hao Liang’s hand—weren’t they the very ones she had sent to Xu An?

There were only two boxes in total, and her brother didn’t eat a single box.

“What kind of payment did you get from my brother?” Qu Tong asked, curious.

She didn’t believe that forging an identity—a criminal act—could be settled with just two boxes of strawberries.

“And the Spirit Power Potion, which has been all the rage online recently. Xu An, that kid, somehow got lucky and snagged a bottle.” Hao Liang was quite forthright, casually chatting with Qu Tong.

“Your cyber-brain wasn’t cheap, your brother really spared no expense. That potion is good stuff, just resell it and making a tidy profit of nearly a million is no issue.”

Qu Tong: “…”

That price gouge?

Qu Tong almost bit the meat inside her mouth.

Really suffering from a lack of money.

If she’d had the money to buy a bottle of that high-grade Spirit Power Potion to sample, she wouldn’t have agreed to such a low price…

Qu Tong’s look was caught by Brother Liang, who thought she was balking at the high price of the brain-computer interface, and said with a dismissive laugh, “Sister, this is the black market. Only because you know me so well can you get your hands on the highest-grade brain-computer interface. Normally, money alone wouldn’t be enough.”

Qu Tong gave him a cool glance.

“Guess whether I believe that or not.”

“Hahaha, you’re quite the entertaining little sister. Indeed, it was the potion your brother brought out that was too tempting,” Brother Liang laughed heartily as he stood up.

“Come on, I’ll walk you out.”

Qu Tong followed behind Brother Liang and walked out of the bar.

Brother Liang tossed a strawberry into his mouth and smirked, “For the sake of your brother, let’s connect on the brain-computer interface. If there’s anything in the future, you can still find me. For this kind of quality fruit, just send more.”

Qu Tong: “…”

In the end, Qu Tong still added Brother Liang to her account.

Brother Liang’s full name was Hao Liang. Good Liang…

Indeed, quite a handsome guy.

She checked her brain-computer interface, and according to Capital Star time, it was already past one in the morning.

Apart from the area around the nightclubs, the streets were basically deserted.

Qu Tong booked the biggest hotel nearby to stay for the night.

She ordered on the Interstellar Net in the way she remembered.

Soon, a public hover vehicle stopped in front of her.

She adjusted her khaki hat brim and with her hands pocketed, boarded the hover vehicle.

The public hover vehicle operated autonomously, it wasn’t large, and the one Qu Tong ordered had only two seats.

Interstellar hover vehicles came in different sizes and not only traveled on the ground but also flew in the sky, though not very high, and were suited for short distances.

To drive a hover vehicle no license was required, and Interstellar children were forced to learn to drive them at a young age.

Those unable to learn or who belonged to special groups were recorded in the archives, and the main control system of the hover vehicles wouldn’t let them access the cockpit.

Qu Tong, feeling lazy, chose the automatic driving feature.

The hover vehicle was much faster than modern cars and didn’t have to wait for traffic lights.

Normally, there was no need to worry about traffic accidents with automatic driving, as they had a unified navigation system and satellite surveillance.

However, the incoming ion beams were not within the detection range of the hover vehicle.

Qu Tong, quick as lightning, seized the steering wheel and swerved sharply, as an ion light beam barely grazed the hover vehicle’s shell.

Unbalanced, the hover vehicle slid towards the side of the street, emitting a piercing screeching sound.

Qu Tong wasn’t hurt and realizing something was wrong, she immediately got out of the vehicle and dashed into the shadows at the corner of a wall.

Her eyes keenly watched for any activity on the street.

Several lights along the street had been destroyed, and she could vaguely make out a few fleeing shadows.

Uniformed special police were behind her.

Suddenly, a blue-purple light burst in front, forcefully halting the fleeing figures.

A silver-white hover vehicle emerged from another street, blocking the path ahead.

The half-open door of the hover vehicle was pushed ajar, and a man of cold and authoritative bearing stepped out, tall and straight-backed, with every button of his military uniform done up to the very top, impeccably neat, his brows exuding a chill aloofness, even just standing there, he radiated a certain ascetic coldness.

It was him!
