"Want some food?" Elliana asked Sebastian as if she wasn’t insulting him earlier and the guy glared at her.
Samantha could feel her cousin getting angry and not wanting her to get hurt, she was about to ask Elliana to hesitate a little and stop talking like that to their King, when to their surprise, Sebastian looked behind him and his man pulled a chair for him, right beside Elliana.
"What are you eating?" Sebastian asked.
Elliana looked at him with a contemplative look before she looked at her plate.
Even a dumb person could see she was ready to do anything but share her food at that moment, and it was probably exactly the reason why their King sat to annoy the girl.
"Well, it’s just a plain cheese sandwich. And it’s not even tasty," Elliana blinked her eyes innocently.
Alcinder placed his fists in front of his mouth to keep his smile and laugh from breaking out.
Samantha glared at her fiance, who bit the inside of his cheeks, unable to hold his laughter anymore.
"Is that so?" Sebastian asked, feeling amused for the first time in his life because of some other person who was looking a bit too cute as she was trying her best and probably using her best trick to save her food from being taken away.
Sebastian, who was looking at her, immediately froze in his place when he realized he just found the girl cute.
Cute? What was cute about this insolent girl who called him a vampire-eating monster twice?
Sebastian glared at the girl before he frustratingly took the sandwich from her plate, and removed his mask before stuffing his mouth with it.
Elliana, who was about to scold him, her expression turning grave, blinked her eyes at him in surprise when she saw him, her heart skipping a beat with an unexplainable ache.
She looked at the man, his hazel eyes, his sharp jaws, and just everything. He was just too perfect. She was not able to move her eyes away from his face anymore.
This wasn’t the first time she saw a handsome man. She has seen and even met her share of handsome men, but this person in front of her...
Her heart trembled and feeling this weird sensation traveling down her spine, Elliana stood from her place, surprising everyone.
"I... I actually remembered I had to call my guardian," Elliana turned around and left, practically rushing away from the sight, her sudden actions confusing everyone.
"I think she found our boss ugly," Harry said, and Garry, who sensed their boss’s uneasy expression, glared at his twin brother.
"Harry, next time, can you keep your thoughts to yourself in a situation like this?" Garry used the mind link to speak to his brother, who pouted.
"I was just stating it. I mean, didn’t she run away as soon as he took off his mask-" Harry couldn’t even complete his thoughts when they felt a swoosh of wind around them and noticed that their King was gone.
Alcinder, who was laughing earlier, immediately went alert and looked at Samantha, who mimicked his expression.
Sebastian saw the running girl and caught her immediately, but rather than stopping, he picked her in his arms and took her straight to the terrace.
"Mmm! What the hell, you -" Elliana gasped when she saw Sebastian’s face so close to hers as he slammed her against the wall.
"What is your problem? Why do you keep having trouble with me? No one has ever insulted me like you did," Sebastian said.
Elliana averted her gaze, her heart giving her away as she bit her bottom lip, a nervous habit of hers.
She wanted to close her eyes and just vanish from the place if it was possible, but she promised her aunt that she wouldn’t ever call her angels to use some magic for her in the vampire Kingdom until it would be about saving herself from some unavoidable danger.
"Why did you run?" Sebastian asked before he grabbed her chin, a sense of Deja Vu hitting him, and he gulped, his breath coming out in short intervals as he almost felt it nearly impossible to keep on holding her.
What kind of voodoo magic it really was?
"Did you find me ugly?" Sebastian asked, unsure of why he was even bothering to ask this question, but it almost felt like his mouth had grown a mouth of itself as it was running without his permission.
"U-ugly? Have you ever seen yourself in the mirror?" Elliana asked.
Sebastian, who thought she was clearly insulting him, was about to berate and counter her telling her all about how many battles he fought when she spoke again.
"You are too beautiful to be the monster you are. Then again, aren’t devils always beautiful?" Elliana whispered.
Hearing the compliment from her, Sebastian didn’t know why but he felt a strange calmness in his heart.
’Must be a witch thing,’ he told himself, forbidding himself to believe in anything else other than that.
"Now if you can keep your distance, I would be really grateful. Don’t tell me you fell for me already," Elliana looked at Sebastian, who scoffed at her.
"Falling in love with you? At first sight? What kind of delusional world do you live in? Or is it that you only know I am a vampire who eats vampires? Haven’t you heard of other rumors about me? Before this year, I used to loathe witches," Sebastian said.
Elliana shrugged.
"Well, you could’ve directly denied it rather than using so many fancy words. And yes, I have heard of those rumors, and I won’t be surprised if half of them are hyped by your team," Elliana challenged.
Angered by her challenging expression, Sebastian wrapped his hand around her throat, his grip tightening.
He wanted to see fear in her eyes, but even when her expression was starting to turn a little pale, she didn’t falter her gaze and he gritted his teeth.
"You are weird. Anyone who falls in love with you would be stupid," Sebastian scoffed before loosening his grip, not stepping away though.
He kept looking into her enchanting amber eyes, those provoking eyes that were compelling him to break all kinds of laws there ever existed and the thought alone made him annoyed with himself.
"Is that so? Keep your distance from me, Mr. Sebastian. Otherwise, I can assure you. That stupid would be you," Elliana pushed the guy away before walking away, leaving Sebastian with his thoughts for the third time.
