Chapter 218: Chapter 217: Those Powerful Hands
Bai Fangfei had known that her class had been planning something, and had used an excuse to slip away when she arrived at school that morning. She ran into Su Jue in the hallway while he was looking for his sister.
Curious, Su Jue asked, “What’s going on with your class?”
“Hello, Brother Jue,” greeted Bai Fangfei quietly, her fingers involuntarily straightening her hair.
Both the Bai Family and the Su Family were prestigious clans in Wucheng, and the families associated with each other, so Bai Fangfei naturally knew Su Jue. However, apart from accompanying Su Luo to find Su Jue, she hardly had any chances to interact with Su Jue alone.
She pursed her lips, “It’s nothing, just Lu Mian.”
“She is now the major contributor and the study god of our class,” Bai Fangfei said with a twist of her mouth, “but I feel like there must be something wrong with her!”
As if finding a like-minded person, Su Jue nodded and said with deep eyes, “I also think there is something wrong with her.”
There was a physical education class today.
Lu Mian, feeling unwell, had not joined the warm-up laps, so the PE teacher asked her to fetch basketballs from the equipment room.
Su Luo raised her hand, saying she wanted to grab a few volleyballs and went with Lu Mian to the equipment room.
The two girls walked side by side on the sports field; Lu Mian didn’t speak, and Su Luo remained silent as well. They walked quietly like that, and although it would have been awkward for others to not find a topic of conversation, the two of them remained silent all the way to the equipment room, without uttering a word.
Su Luo casually picked up two volleyballs and threw them into the basketball cart, pushing the cart by herself. Turning her head, she saw Lu Mian standing still; she lifted her chin somewhat haughtily.
“I’ve got everything; let’s go,” Su Luo said with a pout. “Don’t even think about competing with me for this; I’ve never pushed such a little cart before, and I want to push it!”
Su Luo’s ponytail swayed slightly with her movements.
Lu Mian still stood there, ignoring Su Luo, but after a moment’s pause, she suddenly narrowed her eyes and pulled Su Luo behind her with a swift motion.
“Be careful, there’s a killing intent!”
Su Luo let out a low cry, her face changing drastically.
The princess who was just acting haughty was now standing obediently behind Lu Mian, with both hands covering her mouth.
She peeped out slightly, lowering her voice to a whisper and swallowing hard, “What, what’s going on?”
Lu Mian turned to look at her, amusement coloring her clear, apricot eyes.
Stubbornly, Su Luo replied, “I’m not scared. I just noticed… something on the back of your clothes. I’m just patting it off for you!”
She pretended to pat Lu Mian’s clothes a few times, her hands trembling slightly.
This quiet and dimly lit equipment room, together with Lu Mian’s sudden mention of “killing intent”, instantly conjured up images of vengeful ghosts in her mind, someone who was afraid of ghosts like her.
She was really scared…
Lu Mian looked indifferent and simply uttered an “Oh,” still maintaining her vigilance. However, the intense killing intent from before had dissipated, and she could no longer sense it.
In the air lingered a faint, almost imperceptible scent of blood.
Lu Mian, who was accustomed to such a smell, didn’t comment any further and gestured with her head for Su Luo to leave first.
Su Luo didn’t want to leave her alone, but also worried about causing more trouble, so she quickly said, “I’ll go get someone!”
With that, she hurriedly left the equipment room.
Lu Mian took a few steps deeper into the equipment room, with her limbs and body poised for alert, ready-to-strike movements, squinting her eyes, observing the surroundings.
The equipment room was somewhat cluttered, and the lighting was not very good.

An elegant and cool fragrance mixed with a hint of chill reached her nose.
