The Master’s Mask Unveiled Again Chapter 278

Chapter 278: Chapter 277: Who Should Apologize to Whom?

Fu Man was busy mopping the floor and made a sound of acknowledgment, “None of that is our concern. Go back to your room and study.”

Since Fu Man had found out that her younger daughter had told many lies, she felt very conflicted. But there was nothing she could do; after all, this was her own flesh and blood, and she couldn’t just abandon the child.

Nevertheless, the invisible cracks were still there.

Lu Xinnuan knew this, so she had been quite well-behaved during this period. She didn’t defy Fu Man and slowly went upstairs with an unreadable look on her face.

The next day, Lu Mian returned to school.

She arrived at the classroom, slouching with her backpack, and just happened to run into Bai Fangfei at the back door.

Bai Fangfei stepped quickly and entered first, a smug look on her face.

She turned back to look at Lu Mian and sneered, “I thought you’d be too scared to come to school, huh…”

Lu Mian looked at her as if she were an idiot.

Bai Fangfei covered her mouth, “But, your good days won’t last much longer…”

As she said this, a cautious Pang Hao approached Lu Mian, “Mian bro, the principal said to look for him as soon as you arrived…”

Lu Mian rubbed her temples, feeling annoyed. She wanted to attend class.

But Bai Fangfei had already waved at her with a gleeful expression, “Take care!”

Lu Mian turned and headed to the principal’s office.

Principal Zhang was very polite and cautious in his tone.

“Student Lu, the Bai Family has sent a message to the school. They said if you publicly apologize, this matter can be put to rest.”

He was quite troubled.

The Lu Family didn’t intervene in Lu Mian’s affairs, so Bai Shuli from the Bai Family took the complaint to the school, insisting that Lu Mian apologize.

Regarding the matter of Ya Qing’s new book, Principal Zhang had learned some details from Bai Shuli and also understood the situation through Ding Cai. Nobody knew if Lu Mian had really slandered the Bai Family in front of Ya Qing, but the Bai Family insisted that Lu Mian was the troublemaker.

Businesspeople care about their interests, something very evident with the Bai Family.

However, he couldn’t afford to offend the person in front of him either, as this was someone protected by the Education Bureau.

Principal Zhang said in a soothing voice, “I didn’t ask you to come here to apologize. I just wanted to know what your thoughts are?”

Lu Mian made a sound of affirmation, crossed her legs, and tapped her fingers on the chair back, “An apology is due.”

“You agree to apologize?” Principal Zhang was surprised.

Lu Mian amused herself, her rebellious and uninhibited eyes gleaming with defiance, “The Bai Family should apologize.”

He politely saw Lu Mian off yet again.

On his way back, he happened to run into Ye Jinwen, whose distressed appearance sparked Ye Jinwen’s sense of justice.

“Principal Zhang, what’s the matter?”

Principal Zhang recounted the situation to him, ending with frustration, “Such a mess this has turned into!”

He hurried off after saying goodbye to Ye Jinwen and returned to his office to make a call.

“Director Han, I need you to step in this time…”

Ye Jinwen hurried back to the director’s office, cradling his baby face, waiting expectantly for Xiao Qimo’s response.

“Speak.” The scholarly man’s glasses reflected a hint of cold light.

Ye Jinwen immediately straightened up, his expression sly, “Big bro Seven, Little Mianmian is in trouble!”

Xiao Qimo looked up from a pile of documents, catching Ye Jinwen’s look of “Lu Mian is in trouble, clap and cheer,” his coldness intensifying.

“Ah spit! That’s not what I meant!” He quickly corrected, recalling Mo Nie’s tearful face when he saw her off on the plane that morning, knowing he could never offend Lu Mian, not even a little bit!

“I meant, Little Mianmian finally encounters some difficulties, and it’s finally time for big bro Seven to shine.”

The man put down his pen, “What’s wrong with her?”

Ye Jinwen recounted the entire situation to Xiao Qimo. The scholarly man, gripping his pen, wrote “Bai Family” with forceful, wild strokes.

He slowly curved his lips into a smirk.

With a stroke of his pen, he crossed them out.
