Chapter 14: 14. Ranked #1 Guild: Glory Road
It was now remaining One last man in front of Yuki’s apartment.
’He feels different from the others’ Owen thought as he stopped his premature growling and took on an actual combat stance. The mere Pressure from the man’s aura alone forced both Yuki and Owen into full alert.
"Be at ease, Dragon. I am not your Enemy" the man said as he emerged forward. "I am Cross. Garreth Cross. Vice guild Master of the Top Ranked number 1 Guild; GLORY ROAD."
Yuki’s and Owen’s face went from being oblivious to who this is to gradually recognizing him.
"Oh? Oh?! OH!!!" they echoed telepathically in unison. "it’s the SS-Rank Hunter that’s said to be on par with the president when it comes to power across the human cities." Owen flew as he couldn’t contain his excitement.
Cross had a full set of facial hair and was dressed way more simply that the other vice guild masters. Just a simple suit. But his aura couldn’t be contained within that simplicity. He was SS-Ranked and Just a vice guild master, That alone spoke Volumes of the one above him: The current Guild master of Glory Road, the only living SSS-Rank Human in this Era.
"Your reactions are cute" Cross said as he stepped forward, stopping right in front of the hovering baby dragon. His face just inches away from Owen’s.
"You...Dragon? Hmm, I’m not so sure..." cross said as his black eyes fixed onto Owen’s Golden eyes, it seemed like he could see inside Owen’s soul and tell everything about him but Owen was sure he hadn’t activated any sort of identify or appraisal skill as he hadn’t sensed any mana fluctuations.
"Anyways, the guilds all seem to really want you, of course they do. A dragon tamer, and judging by the aura I feel from your dragon, it seems to be a pure bloodline"
"Pure bloodline?" Yuki said, thinking back to what she saw on Owen’s status the last time she viewed it. The bar that read [species: Dragon (king bloodline)]. But even someone as ignorant as Yuki knew better than to give out such important sounding info.
"Uhm, uhm" she stuttered as she tried to out on a poker face, awkwardly. "Huh? What bloodline? Ha-ha~"
Cross ignored her display and walked past the pair of master and tamed beast.
"Huh? Hey? Aren’t you going to offer me to join your guild?" Yuki called.
"No, not anymore" cross said as he came to a halt. "it was my plan at first, but after watching you, I can tell you don’t plan on joining any guild. I wonder how the others will feel when they find out about this"
He smiled over his shoulders, glancing at Owen one more time with those dark eyes of his.
"Ah, I don’t mean any disrespect, I swear!" Yuki cried pleadingly, thinking that rejecting all these top ranked guilds would bring trouble to her door steps. But cross waved it off, as he didn’t seem offended in any way.
"it’s a shame I won’t have you under my wings. but regardless, your strength is an addition to the collective strength of humanity. If you ever need help, do reach out to me"
And with that, he walked out of the apartment complex.

"Phew~!" Yuki sighed as she slumped into her bed, the day had been hectic. The re-evaluation, The reporters, The vice guild masters.
Everything had been too overstimulating for her.
"Don’t worry, Yuki. They all seem bigger than us now but soon enough they’d all be bowing to my supreme power!" Owen said reassuring as he flew round the apartment, puffing out small clouds of steam.
"Right, your supreme power" Yuki chuckled, she pulled up both their status screens and cross examined it. "Owen, lets test just how strong I’ve actually gotten with these new skills"
Owen flew into her chest in excitement. "I thought you’d never ask, but we can’t do it here."
"True. I’d be in a lot of trouble if any skill activation caused damage or harm to the neighbors." Yuki said as she pulled out her phone and logged into the hunter association network: a hub for dungeon access applications, Hunter chats, item sales and skills listings.
She scrolled until she found an open notice: a C-Rank dungeon exploration Party of four needed one more member. Yuki applied instantly and, surprisingly, was accepted just as fast.
"I’ve gotten a spot, Owen. The dungeon is just downtown" Yuki said as she sprung to her feet.
"Well then, what are we waiting for" Owen said as they headed for the door.

Yuki arrived at the C-rank Dungeon gate alone, Owen had been put into the beast space on the way because he kept being naughty and touching her breasts.
Upon arriving she was greeted by a Sturdy looking guym From Owen’s shared thoughts, she could tell he was a Tanker.
He had a Big frame and has a Great shied hung at his back. He introduced himself as Maxwell, as gestured at the other three people behind him: two girls and another guy, as his party members.
"Hah! What a stuck-up old bitch" one of the girls whispered.
"Yeah, who does she think she is keeping us waiting?" the other girl replied.
Owen overheard their whispering and automatically appeared out of the beast space and into reality.
His majestic black scales glistering under the light of the setting sun and his golden eyes even more radiant that it.
"Whoa!" the other guy in the party screamed as he ran up to Owen, he fell to his knees and raised his hands towards Owen as if worshipping a God. "It’s real, it’s so real. A real black dragon" he muttered.
Maxwell, the tanker, pulled him away as he offered his apologies. "I’m so sorry about this, he’s like the biggest dragon enthusiast ever and has been dreaming of having one forever. He is a tamer too so, there’s that."
Yuki waved it off as she was rather amused by the display and just urged Maxwell to get their credentials audited by the Hunter association agent at the gate so they can begin the dungeon exploration immediately.
