The director’s expression also seemed troubled as he said, "We are aware of that, but the substitute hasn’t arrived, and the advertisement is behind schedule, so..."
"No matter the reasons, no means no!" Li Qingshen’s face darkened further. He was naturally detached and arrogant, and his tone now carried a sharp edge that frightened the director into silence, unable to utter another word.
The producer and crew members glanced around, at a loss for what to do. In the end, everyone turned their attention to Ling Momo.
Ling Momo clearly understood what that meant.
No one dared to offend Li Qingshen, so they all wanted her, the leading actress, to try and convince him personally.
Ling Momo glanced at the diving platform. Honestly speaking, she was truly frightened; just the thought of standing there and jumping down made her legs go weak.
But then, she remembered what Jian Chenxi had said to her earlier, and Ling Momo’s eyes began to roll around, suddenly struck by an idea. Without hesitation, she spoke up and broke the deadlock, "It’s alright, I should be able to do it!"
Upon hearing Ling Momo’s words, Li Qingshen quickly turned his head to look at her face, his brow furrowing even more.
In truth, he didn’t know she was afraid of heights, and when they signed the contract and read the script, she never mentioned her fear. It was only two days ago, while chatting with him on WeChat at night, that she had casually complained about her fear of heights, and he had taken note of it. That very night, he called You Yi and asked him to arrange a substitute. This morning, when the substitute didn’t show, and knowing her character—that she was determined to make a name for herself and wouldn’t let the advertisement be anything less than perfect—he feared an accident might happen. Disregarding his disheveled appearance from a night of activity, he had rushed over in his car.
With this in mind, he shook his head once more, "No!"
Any struggle could be tolerated with gritted teeth, but danger was absolutely unacceptable, because no one knew what unexpected variables might lurk behind it!
"I am a bit afraid of heights, but it’s not that severe, and it’s only ten meters. Plus, there’s water below, and you should know... I’m a very good swimmer. With so many people here, if there really is an accident, you’ll rescue me immediately, right?" Ling Momo smiled sweetly, suppressing the fear in her heart, straightening her back, raising her head slightly, and feigning a carefree appearance.

As she spoke, she gave Li Qingshen an ingratiating, obedient smile.
Li Qingshen didn’t speak, but his expression softened ever so slightly, and Ling Momo immediately persisted in a low, sweetly coercive voice, "Teacher, after I finish filming this scene for the ad, I’ll treat you to a meal, okay?"
Li Qingshen looked down at Ling Momo’s clear eyes, filled with deep anticipation, his lips moved, but in the end, he could not bring himself to say a word in opposition.
