Ling Momo, carrying instant noodles, walked along the path in the residential area, feeling unavoidably melancholic. She felt like someone abandoned by the whole world.
Ling Momo reached the bottom of her building and was about to stretch out her hand to press the elevator button when she heard a cool, light voice, "Ling Momo."
Ling Momo stopped what she was doing and turned towards the source of the voice, her expression immediately one of astonishment.
Li Qingshen, what was he doing here?
Though dubious in her heart, Momo still managed a smile as she greeted Li Qingshen, "Good evening, Teacher."
After the greeting, Momo chuckled and asked, "Teacher, are you here to see someone?"
Li Qingshen nodded and spoke frankly, "Yes, I’m here to discuss something with you."
While speaking, he stepped toward Ling Momo.
"With me?" Momo’s eyes widened with curiosity as she echoed, "What do you need to discuss with me?"
Li Qingshen ignored Momo’s question and stared intently at the bag of instant noodles in her hand. He furrowed his elegant eyebrows and asked with a hint of displeasure, "You’re eating this?"
Momo paused slightly, then realized he was referring to the instant noodles in her hand. Lifting her hand, she scratched her head and offered a faint smile, "Yeah, I don’t feel like cooking when I’m alone, and I’m not very hungry, so I just grabbed something easy."
Li Qingshen’s brows furrowed even more. After a moment of thought, he took his phone out of his pocket, dialed a number, and spoke with a calm voice into the receiver, "Reserve a private room for me, I’ll arrive in about half an hour."
As soon as Li Qingshen hung up the phone, he reached out, took the bag of instant noodles from Ling Momo’s hand, and said in the same even tone, "Let’s go."
"Where to?" Ling Momo asked.
"Dinner." Li Qingshen replied succinctly and started walking ahead.
Ling Momo hurriedly followed.
Li Qingshen’s car was parked not far away. He reached the car first, opened the passenger’s side door for Momo to get in, shut the door, tossed her bag of instant noodles in the back, and then got into the car himself.
At seven o’clock, the roads were slightly congested.
It was quiet inside the car, and Momo dared not speak out of turn. She began to feel bored and, leaning against the passenger seat, she closed her eyes and dozed off.
When Ling Momo opened her eyes, the car had already stopped in a parking lot. Li Qingshen was sitting quietly to one side, lost in thought as he stared at the rearview mirror. Seeing the girl who had been asleep now suddenly wake up, he immediately turned and asked, "Awake?"
Feeling embarrassed, Momo blushed and was just thinking about what to say when Li Qingshen had already unbuckled his seat belt and stepped out of the car.
Momo quickly followed suit and stepping out, she recognized that this was the Hyatt Hotel parking lot. Glancing at her phone, she saw it was already half past eight and couldn’t help but lift her head and ask Li Qingshen, "Was the traffic that bad?"
From her home to the Hyatt Hotel, it should take at most twenty minutes. Even with the congestion earlier, it shouldn’t have taken an hour and a half.
Li Qingshen nodded, then pressed the elevator button. He didn’t say whether it was because he saw her sleeping soundly and couldn’t bear to wake her, or perhaps it was because he treasured having that quiet time alone with her.
Li Qingshen had already made a call and reserved a private room. As the two entered and sat down, a waiter presented them with menus.
