Ling Momo wrinkled her nose and then grabbed her cellphone to find the electricity meter inside the house. Under the dim light, she noticed there was still plenty of electricity, so she ran to the window and saw that the other houses had power. That made her realize the problem was not a power outage in the neighborhood, but something in her own house.

Li Qingshen was standing downstairs, habitually waiting to see the lights in Ling Momo’s apartment come on before leaving. Unexpectedly, after waiting for a long time, he only saw the light flicker once and then it went dark again. Worried, he locked his car and went upstairs.
