The Post Sky Tipping Era Chapter 7

Humans are easily capable of creating miracles.

Because they always do things that defy common sense.

Knowing well the extreme dangers ahead, a few people were willing to risk their lives for the unknown Mysterious Object, gambling on an uncertain future.

Because gambling with their lives wasn’t scary, what was scary was if the stakes from the other side weren’t rich enough.

Li Yi might not have been the first to act, but his efficiency was the highest.

Because most of the dangers were attracted to Wang Hu, Wei Li, and Zhang Kaiwen, there were only a few eerily twisting corpses in the mud ahead of him, and those bodies all surged towards the others, ignoring his presence.

That was precisely why he dared to take this risk.

At this moment, Li Yi’s heart was pounding; he was getting closer and closer to that solitary grave, and he could even make out the writing on the broken tombstone, although it was twisted like tadpoles, unlike any language or culture known in history.

He didn’t dare to pause for even a moment, continuing to move forward at the fastest speed.

a reluctant scream suddenly echoed not far away.

Li Yi’s eyelids twitched, and he subconsciously glanced in that direction.

Zhang Kaiwen, at this moment, was half submerged in the mud, entangled by three or four eerie corpses, and his body was sinking fast, as if he were about to vanish from this world, despite his frantic struggles.

The mud-covered corpses seemed horrendously heavy, not something normal people could contend with.

"I’m not willing to fail; it’s just a little more."

Zhang Kaiwen was still shouting and struggling, but soon, a filthy, cold hand firmly pressed his head into the mud.

Once buried underground, all his struggling ceased abruptly, leaving only his mud-covered arm exposed, twisted and stiff.

"So everyone who dies here becomes a body in the mud, forever trapped here, unable to escape."

Li Yi felt a chill in his heart, but he soon stopped looking and gritted his teeth to keep moving forward.

Because after Zhang Kaiwen’s death, the nearby mud stirred as those dreadful bodies looked up, emitted agonizing howls, and started closing in on him.

Although they were rolling in the mud, their approaching speed was unnaturally fast.

"Is Zhang Kaiwen dead?" Wei Li became more anxious at this moment.

With one less person to share the burden, his danger increased.

Though he was moving as fast as he could, whether he could make it across was uncertain, but he knew he had no way back, neither then nor now.

"Power, damn it, get out of my body, it’s still broad daylight, not time for you to sleep!" Suddenly, a shout and roar echoed in the darkness.

Wang Hu, covered in mud, erupted with unimaginable strength, breaking free from the grip of a mud-covered corpse. He then ran and leaped like a wild beast, overtaking Li Yi in moments and miraculously reaching the solitary grave first.

Next to the grave, the soil was firm and overgrown with wild grass, and it did not sink when stepped on.

"How did this guy do it?" Wei Li, the doctor, was a bit stunned at this moment; he felt Wang Hu, an ordinary person, had completely defied common sense.

Was it possible to shout a few times and burst with power to break free and escape?

At this time, Li Yi, gasping for breath, stopped; his path had been better than the others, and he had arrived at the solitary grave without incident.

There was no time to worry about the surrounding dangers; he needed to grab the object and leave quickly.

As previously observed, the solitary grave seemed to have been visited by a Tomb Robber. The coffin lid was flipped next to it, the tomb’s owner’s bones were discarded beside it, and the empty coffin contained only a pile of tattered clothes with no burial artifacts or Mysterious Object to be seen.

It seemed Li Yi and Wang Hu had run in vain.

But the next moment, Wang Hu didn’t hesitate to pick up the dried corpse from the ground.

"Unknown mighty one, your bones have not decayed for so many years; come with me, Wang Hu. I will take you to overturn this world, hahaha." He laughed loudly, and then, carrying the dried corpse, he left in a direction without looking back.

This behavior snapped Li Yi awake.

No one knew what the Mysterious Object was; you grab what you can.

He rushed over, grabbed the pile of tattered clothes from the coffin, and turned to run.

Turning around, he saw Wei Li who had just arrived.

The two men exchanged glances without interfering with each other.

Wei Li headed straight for the offerings scattered beside the tombstone, as there were some artefacts scattered among them.

Like Li Yi and Wang Hu, he grabbed them and fled.

Because everyone knew they couldn’t stay here long, and it wasn’t feasible to be greedy and try for other items. That would delay their escape.

The three men dispersed, whether what they had in their hands was a Mysterious Object or of any value, only heaven knew then.

The bodies in the mud continued to wail and squirm; these terrifying things seemed to be rioting, breaking free from the confines of the mud, and started crawling aimlessly in all directions.

The monstrous howls even carried outside the building.
