Madam Ling’s knife had shown no mercy, she had truly intended to kill Gu Chenglin, the ferocity in her eyes was a stark contrast to her previous gentleness.
Gu Chengfeng, coming back to his senses, hurriedly pulled her away!
Gu Chenglin fell in a pool of blood, his eyes wide with grief, staring blankly at Madam Ling who was smiling victoriously as she collapsed on the ground.

The physician quickly examined Gu Chenglin’s injuries.
Ordinarily, the next step would be to pull out the knife, then stitch the wound and stop the bleeding.
However, the knife was embedded in a dangerous place, almost in his heart. If they pulled it out, the bleeding might be unstoppable.

He was a soldier, he had killed people and suffered injuries himself. Just one glance at Gu Chenglin was enough to know that there was no hope for him.
Even the army’s most experienced Medical Officer wouldn’t be able to treat this level of injury.
At first, Gu Chenglin’s wound was just seeping blood, but soon his entire body started to shiver and he began to cough up blood.
Gu Chengfeng was consumed by self-blame!
It was all his fault, he should have looked after his younger brother better!
If he had been even slightly suspicious of Madam Ling, like he had been with the Yao Family, he would not have been caught off guard.
Gu Chengfeng held Gu Chenglin’s hand, tears streaming down his cheeks.
Gu Changqing clenched his fists, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
In that moment, no one knew what he was thinking, but they saw him stride forward decisively, carefully cradling Gu Chenglin’s back and knees in his arms and lifting him up.
“What are you doing?” Marquis Gu asked.
“I am taking him to a doctor!” Gu Changqing answered solemnly.
Marquis Gu angrily said: “What doctor? Huang Zhong has already gone to fetch the Imperial Physician! He’s gravely injured, don’t move him around!”
As a martial artist, he understood enough that severely injured people shouldn’t be moved haphazardly, as it could aggravate the wounds.
But Gu Changqing replied: “The Imperial Physician cannot save him.”
