Gu Jiao nodded, “Yes, it needs to be boiled to obtain nitrate. After that, it is filtered and turned into saltpeter. You are here just in time to help me boil it.”
The second neighbor was completely flabbergasted.
Of all the things a young girl like you could boil, why on earth would you want to boil bird droppings?
“Saltpeter is clean,” Gu Jiao replied.

The weather was hot and the moisture evaporated quickly. By afternoon, several packs of heavy saltpeter were ready.
The saltpeter Gu Jiao made was crystal clear with a faint white color.
Gu Jiao was pleased. Looking at the second neighbor, who was full of disgust, she said, “Saltpeter is also a very good medicinal ingredient.”
The second neighbor: “Don’t tell me you have fed it to me.”

Only her head was visible, and she was wearing a cold expression.
Xuanping couldn’t hold back his laughter!
Some people never learn. He had been planning to appease her, even rehearsing dialogues in his mind on his way. But upon seeing Gu Jiao’s miserable and indifferent face, he couldn’t help but tease her.
Xuanping looked up and prompted, “Girl, want to come down? Call me ‘Dad’, and I’ll get you down.”
She attempted to turn around and give him the back of her head. But she rotated too much, and ended up back in her original position.
Seeing her indifferent face, Xuanping laughed so hard he was trembling.
Anybody else would have come off as greaseballs if they laughed , but Xuanping was so naturally handsome, and there wasn’t an angle at which he did not look good. Even this inappropriate laughing made a pleasing sight.
Gu Jiao stared at his handsome face, hesitated for a while, and the stiffness in her face eased somewhat. She asked coldly, “What did you ask me to call you?”
Xuanping raised an eyebrow, “Dad.”
Gu Jiao nodded, “Mm-hm!”
