At the Mo villa in suburbs
Xia Yuwei came back from hospital looking even more vulnerable, her curly eyelashes fluttering with contentment.
She walked into the villa holding Mo Yixuan’s hand, so tight as if a declaration of sovereignty.

Li Qin pointed her finger at He Xiyan with another hand on her waist, playing a vixen vividly.

Xia Yuwei pouted in grievance and hid behind Mo Yixuan as if out there was a devil.

She took good care of her because she was Yixuan’s mother and she had promised him that she would treat her well since his father was no longer with them. It had been three years, long enough to endear even a wolf, but her mother-in-law still had zero trust in her and even hit her.

“Yixuan,” Li Qin twisted her son to look at Xia Yuwei frightened behind him, “you see for yourself. Look at what that woman has done.” She pointed at Xia Yuwei’s left cheek, paining to look at her.
Not until then did Mo Yixuan noticed that Xia Yuwei had her left cheek visibly bigger than the right side and a palm size mark could still be seen.
