Han Chengbei had barely finished his sentence when Ye Junqing’s cold voice cut in, his countenance stern: “Come here now!”
Ye Xingguang’s heart pounded. Hastily, she pried Han Chengbei’s arm away from her waist and moved towards Ye Junqing.
But as soon as she took a step, Han Chengbei grabbed her arm.
Han Chengbei complained in a low voice, “What are you doing? He calls, and you just go to him, where does that leave my pride?”
This guy, can he stop making things difficult for her?
Han Chengbei paused in surprise, “What? So you have been having an affair with Ye Junqing, behind your husband’s back?”
Ye Xingguang nearly stomped her foot, “Nonsense! Who said anything about having an affair? Ye Junqing is my husband!”
Han Chengbei felt a buzzing sensation, “What did you say?”
Ye Xingguang rolled her eyes, “I am the girl they called ‘Koi Girl’ online.”
Han Chengbei stood there as if struck by a thunderbolt. Looking at Ye Xingguang, then at Ye Junqing, he let out a quiet curse, “Damn, I was such a fool, I missed all the signs!”
No wonder last time Ye Junqing, as if in a daze, suddenly took off his arm and hoisted her into the car!
Was he the one who’d been made a fool of, and showed her favor all the while?
“Okay, I’m leaving. Thanks for your help last night. Let’s have a meal together someday.”
Then she briskly stepped towards Ye Junqing, saying, “Why are you here? Weren’t you abroad? But your timing is perfect because I was just about to call you to explain about the pictures. Let’s talk in the car.”
Ye Junqing seemed pleased with her initiative. He glanced at Han Chengbei with a dangerous look, then, in a flagrant display of ownership, swept Ye Xingguang into his arms and briskly walked her to his car.
Once they were in the car, Ye Xingguang immediately took out her phone, opened a video, and began to explain.
“I didn’t mean to ignore your calls last night. I just wanted to get the footage first before explaining to you about the photos. Look at this surveillance video – you can see I didn’t do anything wrong.”
But Ye Junqing didn’t even glance at it after he settled down.
“Please, look at it.” She didn’t want him to misunderstand.
Ye Junqing’s voice was frosty. “No need.”
All night, she’d been trying to gather evidence to prove herself whenever he doubted her and Shi Yun Chen’s relationship. And now, he won’t even take a glance? Had she wasted her whole night?
Ye Junqing’s face was stormy as he focused on Ye Xingguang’s face, desperate to prove her innocence. His voice was a mere whisper, “Do you think I wouldn’t trust you?”
“Isn’t it? Then why did you call me so much?”
Everytime he recalled the calls he made which she didn’t pick up and, instead, sought help from others, Ye Junqing felt a surge of anger.
“So making those calls means I don’t trust you? Ye Xingguang, do you think I’m stupid enough to be easily swayed by others? In your heart, am I that foolish?”
Ye Xingguang was taken aback. Wasn’t it so? Fu Zhuo called her and let her know that he was very angry. Confused, she asked, “Then what are you angry about?”
“Figure it out yourself!”
After dropping these words, Ye Junqing didn’t want to bother with her anymore. Instead, he told the driver coldly, “Drive to the Xia’s Family.”
Ye Xingguang, looking at the gray sky outside the window, murmured, “Isn’t it too early to go there now? They might all still be asleep.”
“Too early? For what?” Ye Junqing was still furious, his scathing comment hung in the air, “I didn’t sleep, you didn’t sleep, why should the instigator enjoy a good dream?”
