Chapter 339: Giving You a Love Encouragement_1
“I saw your brother, the presidential candidate, had his qualification revoked on the news. I was worried, so I came back to check on you,” she said.
As she spoke, she clung to his arm, depending on him. “Didn’t you say you had a solution? You told me not to worry, but how did it come to this? If you refuse, you could end up in prison for three years.”
Lowering his head, Ye Junqing gazed deeply at her troubled expression, finding it charming. “What, afraid I’ll go to jail?”
She had a way to pick up the pieces for him.
However, she needed almost a month. No matter how much she cried now, it was impossible to cry out a regret pill to reverse the current dire situation. She was inevitably frustrated.
Ye Junqing, not satisfied with her reply, raised her chin with one finger, studying her calm face. “Not scared? Why? Do you have confidence in me or do you not care whether I go to jail?”
“I have confidence in myself.”
Raising an eyebrow, Ye Junqing wondered – who gave her such self-confidence? Was she so certain that she was his only choice?
But, he did appreciate her calm and blindly confident expression.
Ye Xingguang’s eyelashes trembled. “Do you really have a solution for the current problem? Just tell me the truth.”
After a momentary contemplation, Ye Junqing told the truth, “No.”
“I only have a fifty percent chance, but, given the circumstance, I have to gamble on it.”
She did not say anything more, only leaning against him silently, allowing him to hold her with such tender dominance. After a while, she said, “Then you go ahead and do it. Even if the results aren’t satisfactory, I’ll find a way to clean up for you, as long as your heart is with me.”
The same bold proclamation as before.
Her fingertip resting against the man’s heart.
As long as he adamantly wanted her, no matter how bad the outcome, she could turn the tide.
Hearing this, Ye Junqing felt both amused and warmed. Lowering his head, he left a kiss on her forehead. “Alright then. I’ll go ahead and do it, trusting you to support me. Just don’t let me screw everything up.”
Ye Xingguang blushed, dabbed at her forehead, then reached up on her toes and left a kiss on his forehead as well.
“A loving encouragement.”
After saying this, she attempted to flee, the sweetness and embarrassment of the action making her wish she could disappear.
However, how could Ye Junqing let her go? He grabbed her wrist, pointed at his left face, “Here too.”
Ye Xingguang was embarrassed, but since he’d gone this far for her, she wasn’t one to be pretentious. Determinedly, she reached up on her toes, and left another loving encouragement on his left cheek.
“And the right side too.” The man demanded further.
Ye Xingguang’s ears turned red, glared at him. “Are you done yet?”
“Not yet.” He responded, categorically.
Ye Xingguang aimed a kick at him and quickly placed a kiss on his right cheek too.
Fearing the man would never stop, she forcefully withdrew her hand and ran out of the study, leaving him staring out of the floor-to-ceiling window, his heart warm as if ironed, savoring the moment. How had she become so adorable?
However, the thought of his current predicament quickly sobered Ye Junqing. He indeed only had a fifty-fifty chance, and the fact that he was depending on a person he didn’t want to depend upon made this game a risky one.
