The room was dimly lit, with only the soft silver glow of moonslight from outside. It illuminated the man on the special throne, his robust form held upright by the restraints. His face, usually radiant with vigor, was now contorted with the struggle to suppress his desire.
“Maybe you should take the medicine!” Ye Xingguang blurted out impulsively.
She strode up to the man and said, “I’ll give you the medicine, and then…”
“And then what?” The man, suddenly wide-eyed, interrupted.
Ye Xingguang lost her nerve, and was unable to speak further. But she was resolute about what she needed to do. “Wait here,” she said, “I’ll go and get the medicine for you.”
With that, Ye Xingguang rushed out, leaving the man sitting alone on his throne, contemplating her unfinished sentence.
What did she mean by that?
Without her explicitly stating it, he dared not assume her intentions!
When Ye Xingguang returned, she held a steaming bowl of medicine. She handled it delicately as she approached him, urging, “Drink it quickly. You’ll feel better after.”
