In T-city, a speedboat cruised and dashed over the calm sea.
On the speedboat, there were exactly two seats. Li Yu claimed the driver’s seat, while Ye Xingguang sat beside him, facing the sea breeze. She kept her hands up high and enjoyed the thrill for quite some time before using them to shield her face from the sun.
Turning her head sideway, she glanced at Li Yu’s handsome face and stared at it for a long moment.
Under the sunlight, Li Yu’s face was relaxed and weary, his half-awake eyebrows and eyes added a touch of innocent beauty to his appearance.
Having set the speedboat on auto-driving mode, Li Yu stretched his long legs languidly with his hands behind his head, “What are you looking at? Am I charming enough to turn your head?”
Ye Xingguang rolled her eyes. However, she did admit that the lad had grown more attractive, enough to make girls scream. His nose was high, and his skin, white enough to incite her jealousy, seemed like fine china. His eyelashes were too long and dense. His side face even seemed like a well-edited picture. It was just that she had grown up with Li Yu and was probably too familiar with him to feel any spark.
Ye Xingguang didn’t look away and openly admired his beauty, “Brother Yu, you haven’t been home for so many years. I bet Uncle Li will be thrilled to see you.”
“Are you sure he won’t want to kill me on sight?” Li Yu muttered lazily.
Ye Xingguang burst into laughter. With Uncle Li’s temper, that really could be the case.
“You deserve it. You ran away from home and didn’t return for years. Every New Year’s Eve, Uncle Li would say he’s going to kill you. Once we get to the island, if Uncle Li hits you, I’ll speak on your behalf considering you did surgery for my dad. But, Brother Yu, where on earth have you been goofing off all these years?”
Li Yu gave a lazy laugh. The sun was intense at sea, as were the UV rays. Shielding his eyes with his hand, he looked downcast, “I had an unforgettable adventure, but let’s just leave it at that. I’m sleepy, don’t disturb me.”
Seeing him about to doze off again, Ye Xingguang rolled her eyes, “All you know is sleep. It’s as if you’re never fully awake. Do you not sleep at night and act like a thief instead?”
“Tired!” Li Yu tossed her a word.
“Then switch seats with me. I’ll drive.”
Li Yu didn’t refuse, quickly switched seats with her, and went back to his comfortable slumber.
Ye Xingguang smacked her lips, hurling an insult, “Sleeping pig!”
Then, she focused on driving the boat.
After a journey of driving, they finally reached the dock of the island at ten o’clock at night.
Fortunately, it was a bright night with a nearly full moon. They stepped onto the fragrant dock bathed in moonlight, which had a charm of its own.
Ye Xingguang came back to pick up medicine, so after she got what she needed from the house and packed up a few pieces of her parents’ clothing, she planned to leave the island without any delay.
As she was about to close the door, she saw an elderly woman, still full of charm, walking out from the neighboring villa. The woman lit her face with a flashlight and recognized her after a while, “Xingguang?”
“Mrs. Shen, it’s me.”
After closing the door, Xingguang crossed to the adjacent villa to greet Mrs. Shen.
Mrs. Shen hadn’t seen Xingguang for a long time, and her face was full of affectionate surprise, “You child, when did you come back? Are your parents back too? How is your father’s health? Come in and sit.”
Not minding the few extra minutes before her departure, Ye Xingguang followed Mrs. Shen into the house.
Mrs. Shen was a person full of artistic taste, and even the interior decor of the villa radiated artistic charm.
