Despite Ye Junqing’s aversion to women’s clothing, he entered the bathroom and rinsed his body under the shower. He then grabbed a clean towel from the rack to dry himself off before returning to the bedroom.
Noticing that he was wear nothing at all, Ye Xingguang blushed and said, “Put on my sleeping clothes.”
Ye Junqing ignored her.
With her eyes darting everywhere but him, Ye Xingguang asked, “You won’t put it on, really?”
“Yeah, I’m comfortable with myself and not paranoid, unlike some people,” he retorted coldly.
Grabbing a pillow, Ye Xingguang threw it at him, shrieking, “Get out!”
Catching the pillow, Ye Junqing stared at her with his deep, icy eyes, “Do you actually expect me to leave ?”
“I gave you my pajamas, and you refused to wear them. How is that my problem?”
Having said this, Ye Xingguang yanked the door open, but Ye Junqing immediately grasped her hand, exclaiming, “I’m not leaving!”
“I’m not leaving!” he repeated.
“If you’re not leaving, then I am. Let me go!”
In an instant, Ye Junqing’s face darkened as if a storm was about to hit, “Where are you going?”
This response ignited Ye Junqing’s rage, “Are you going to sleep with Li Yu?”
Infuriated, tears welled up in Ye Xingguang’s eyes as she glared at him, “Watch your mouth. Who said I was sleeping with Li Yu? We’ve been innocent childhood friends and nothing else. Stop imagining things with your filthy mind!”
“Imagining things? Had I not rushed here tonight, you would have spent the whole night in his arms. Ye Xingguang, don’t take me for a fool. If you dare sleep with him again, I will have him minced!”
“I didn’t spend the night in his arms! You bastard, it’s a wonder why lightning hasn’t struck you dead!”
Furious and exasperated, Ye Xingguang, pointing at her clothes ruined by him, retorted, “I was merely going to get you a clean shirt from my dad’s room. It was only because Li Yu had nowhere to sleep that I let him use the guest room. Can your mind stop being so dirty?”
“Guest room? He’s in the guest room?”
Unconvinced, Ye Junqing recalled that it was her room he had previously seen; he asked, “So, where is your room?”
Rolling her eyes, Ye Xingguang answered, “Isn’t it this one?”
Ye Junqing said nothing, his deep gaze scanning the room, the vanity, her pink sheets, and the wardrobe.
Approaching the wardrobe, he discovered it was filled with her clothes. Was this really her room and Li Yu was sleeping in the guest room? It contradicted his previous assumptions.
But it didn’t matter. What was important was that she hadn’t betrayed him to share a bed with Li Yu as he had feared!
Some of the gloom clouding Ye Junqing’s mind began to dissipate, he fixed his dark gaze on her and asked, “Did you truthfully not sleep with Li Yu tonight?”
Enraged by his question, Ye Xingguang pointed at the door, “Get out, right now! If you distrust me so much, I don’t want to see you!”
Unmoved, Ye Junqing casually sat on the edge of the bed. His melancholy didn’t entirely vanish “I don’t trust you. The moment Li Yu left, you followed him. Did you think Li Yu is your husband, that you had to chase after him?”
Now even angrier, a fiery light flashed in Ye Xingguang’s eyes, “Who was chasing him? I returned home, traveling a long distance, all for you!”
