The Richest Billionaire is My Accidental Husband Chapter 559

Chapter 559: Chapter 559 No Comparison, No Hurt_1

Bai Lanwu watched the video and was furious: “Didn’t Xia Ye tell you that she was working overtime that night and couldn’t spare the time to eat the chopped pepper fish head I cooked? Turns out he wasn’t occupied, but preferred to take time off to dine with someone else, getting you into this unwarranted disaster. You wouldn’t have had acute gastroenteritis otherwise!”

Upon seeing her daughter vomit and suffer from diarrhea in the past few days, Bai Lanwu was heartbroken. Now, the video on the internet ignited her anger towards Ye Junqing.

Just then, Tang Zhou shouted from outside: “Xingguang, Brother Qing is here.”

Bai Lanwu was boiling with anger and had nowhere to vent. Hearing the shouts from outside, she quickly turned and walked out, stopping Ye Junqing who was striding in.

Ye Junqing was moving quickly in haste. Upon seeing Bai Lanwu, he respectfully greeted her: “Mother, how is Xingguang doing?”

“You needn’t bother about her now!”

No wonder the doctor said that her daughter was both physically and emotionally ill. It all made sense to Bai Lanwu now. The food poisoning coupled with the emotional slump was all because of the culprit before her eyes.

Ye Junqing froze for a moment, raised his long legs and attempted to bypass Bai Lanwu to get into the room, but she stood at the door like an unyielding shield, barring him from entering. Ye Junqing being tall could see over Bai Lanwu, towards Ye Xingguang who lay curled up sideways on the hospital bed. Xia Ye Zhao was tucking her in.

With his heart on fire, Ye Junqing spoke respectfully: “Mother, please allow me to pass.”

Bai Lanwu didn’t yield. Though generally a tender woman, she was strong-willed when it came to her daughter. Reminded of how her daughter had to bear all the distress silently whilst falling ill , Bai Lanwu’s heartache was unbearable.

The more Bai Lanwu pondered, the more heartbroken she felt, and pointed at the door: “Out you go, my daughter doesn’t need your sympathy.”

Despite her attitude, Ye Junqing was bewildered and stunned.

He hesitated for a moment, then began to self-reflect, “Mother, I’m sorry. I’ve been busy with work these past few days and didn’t know Xingguang was unwell. Mother, please let me go in and see her.”

“See her for what? My daughter isn’t so bereft of admirers that she needs to grovel before you!”

Then another individual approached, Han Chengbei, holding a light porridge. Seeing that Ye Junqing was being driven away by Ye Xingguang’s mother in the living room, he quickly stepped forward to stir things up: “Auntie, I’m back to see you again, do you remember me?”

Bai Lanwu did remember. Han Chengbei had visited her husband with fruit two days ago, a friend of Xingguang’s.

Abandoning his usual frivolity, Han Chengbei put on a face that would ingratiate himself with the elders. He held up the medicated porridge he had brought, saying, “Yes, it’s me. Your memory is impeccable, Auntie. I learned on Weibo that Xingguang was unwell, so I bought her a medicated diet. What happened? She was fine the day before yesterday. Where is she? This medicated diet needs to be consumed warm.”

Without a comparison, there would be no harm done. Even an ordinary friend remembered to bring a medicated meal to her daughter, but the soon-to-be son-in-law was empty-handed. Bai Lanwu, in her fury, wasn’t seeing anything favorably, and by comparison, Han Chengbei seemed much better.

Bai Lanwu allowed Han Chengbei in, saying: “Go ahead, Xingguang hasn’t been able to keep any food down these past few days. She is starving now.”

“Thank you, Auntie. This medicated porridge I brought is from the best porridge shop in the capital. It’s surely clean, sanitary, and stomach-warming. The owner of the shop is a descendent of a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners. Many people who aren’t feeling well and have lost their appetites patronize them. I’ll go in then.”

After Han Chengbei finished speaking, he glanced at Ye Junqing smugly and walked away with a smug stride.
