Ye Junqing was already irritated thinking about Xia Ye Zhao, but he didn’t want his mother to misunderstand any further: “Xia treats her like his sister, not the way you’re imagining. She isn’t something to worry about either. I already have enough misunderstandings to deal with here,” he reassured her.

“Then let him stay outside.”
Ye Xingguang, having slept enough and sitting by the bed, poured out her mixed feelings: “Brother, does Yan Xi really like Tang Xiao?”
Xia Ye Zhao replied, “Yeah. Although Tang Xiao is adopted by the Ye’s family, he comes from a humble background. Yan’s family patriarch wasn’t fond of him, which is why they never became serious. But now that Ye Shiting is about to succeed the Ye’s family, Tang Xiao has secured his position as the President’s first chief of staff. Should Yan Xi accept Ye Shiting’s offer to become the Minister of Defense, they will have many intersecting points in their work life.”
Ye Xingguang wondered, “The position of the chief of staff is already quite high. The President’s chief of staff has always been regarded as the second most powerful person. Yan’s family should be able to accept Tang Xiao now, right? So they might end up together in the future, right?”
Xia Ye Zhao laughed, “Why, worried that Yan Xi would not be able to get married, and come back to compete with you for Ye Junqing?”

“I thought you didn’t believe him.”
