Tang Zhou looked at the table filled with food. “Can the two of us finish all this? Overeating is one thing, but I don’t want to get diarrhea from eating too much. Leng Chenmo dropped some cooked lamb into Tang Zhou’s dipping sauce dish. “If we can’t finish it, we can save it for lunch tomorrow.”

He had secretly filled out a form to have a child but didn’t know how to tell Leng Chenmo. He was feeling so torn. “Hey, you said the other day that many of your friends already have children and that you also wanted to be a father. Were you serious?”
Engrossed in his thoughts, Leng Chenmo didn’t respond to Tang Zhou.
Tang Zhou felt disappointed. It seemed that this man didn’t really intend to have a child with him.

Burning his tongue on the hot duck’s blood, Tang Zhou hissed and snapped, “Forget it!”
Tang Zhou, holding back his annoyance, glared at Leng Chenmo. “I said it was nothing. Aren’t you annoyed with always talking, even while eating?”
Leng Chenmo was always tolerant of Tang Zhou’s bad temper, he never quarreled with him, instead he patiently explained, “I apologize, I was deep in thought and didn’t hear what you said.”
Tang Zhou, feeling a bit mollified, queried, “Oh, what were you thinking about?”
Leng Chenmo fished a piece of beef roll from the hot pot and tasted it. He was contemplating how his entire life had been devoted to his family only to be disowned upon seeing a paternity test not affirming Leng’s family bloodline.
