Little shadow ran into the street in the familiar direction. The faint morning sunlight burned through his soul leaving behind a small wisp of smoke.
But he did not stop. He had to save him.
No, he needed to save him.
He anxiously awaited by the school gates. Classes did not start until seven-thirty. It was barely dawn. He would not survive the full blast of sunlight.
Little shadow anxiously bit his lips as he waited for a certain someone.
After an hour of waiting the familiar black car stopped in front of the car. A young girl walked out with a soft smile on her face.
But as soon as she spotted him her smile went away.
With her head lowered, she walked into the school.
"Wait, I need your help! Eric is in trouble. His yin is going out of trouble. He needs someone with strong yang energy!" he ran after her.
The girl froze. "What?"
The other student close by her halted in his step. "I didn’t say anything,"
"I’m not talking to you," Yuna took out her wireless headphones and put them on. "What do you mean sick? He was fine a day ago."
"His cultivation is going out of control. Please. You are the only person who can help him."
Yuna frowned, biting her bottom lip. "I don’t have yang energy, only yin flows through me."
Little shadow whimpered. "Do you know anyone else who has strong yang? Please... you can see the auras right. find them for me, please. Anyone."
Yuna lifted her head up and finally faced him. "I know someone, he does not have yang energy but I think he can help him."
"Then let’s go!" little shadow urged her.
Yuan gazed at the school and then at him. "I’m going to be so much trouble." She dashed out the gates.
"Hey! Student, where do you think you are going?" the gatekeeper ran after her.
"I’m sorry... I.... I have periods!!!" she screamed running like a maniac.
The gatekeeper flushed red as he gazed at her retreating figure. "I’ll report you to your teacher kid!"
"Please do!" Yuna shouted back as she hailed a cab. She hopped in and left the school street.
Panting, she wiped the sweat off her face. "My father is going to kill me."
Little shadow worriedly looked her way. "if your father asks just tell him that you want to meet your sick classmate."
"Not after the stunt I did. My dad will definitely know I lied." She grumpily tossed her bag down.
The diver gave her a weird look through the rearview mirror.
Yuna smiled at him and pointed to the headphones.
The old man nodded and drove a bit faster.
The car soon drove through a very posh and well-groomed area. every single house in this area looked like they were taken out of a magazine with well-manicured trees and fresh green lawn.
Little shadow looked at it with interest. But the scorching sun burned his face as he got close.
he poutingly sat in the leg space.
Yuna gazed at him with an unknown look. "Why are you going to these lengths for him? Is it because you both suffered under that murderer?"
The little ghost shook his head and then nodded. "He promised to help me find my parents... and eric is a good person. I don’t want to see him die."
Yuna nodded.
"What about you? Why did you approach him the first day? I even told you he was interested in guys... yet still you approached him. Do you have a special reason why?" little shadow peered at her curiously.
Yuan just shrugged. "He just seemed like an interesting guy. Plus, he had a black shadow hiding noticeably on his back. I was just going to warn him but notching his twin eyes, I backed off."
The car came to a stop in front of a posh mansion. Yuan paid for the cab and walked out. Right away the huge gates opened for them and a few well-dressed men were waiting for them.
Yuna raised a brow at this. "I never told anyone I was visiting,"
"He knew...he also told us to treat our special guest well." The man pointedly looked at the little ghost way.
Little shadow pointed to himself. "is this the guy? Mister, can you please help my friend? He is going through a cultivation deviation. He needs help desperately. Please you have to help him!"
The man bowed slightly and opened the umbrella for him.
"He is not the one you are looking for. Come," yuan gestured for him to follow her.
The fancy pathway led them to a secluded villa right behind the huge mansion. A huge bamboo forest covered the whole area casting its chilling shadow around the home.
"the day has come...." A hoard voice whispered softly behind them.
Yuna gazed back at the old man pruning a bonsai’s branches. "sir, I need your help to save a friend."
The old man looked up. his eyes were completely white without a trace of black in them. "Yes, I know."
Yuan impatiently groaned. "He is dying of some cultivation failure. You are the one who deals with this, gramps, come on don’t act all cool in front of me. I know you pick your nose in secrete and smear it on your clothes,"
The old man’s serene face twitched slightly. "it’s nothing but the truth."
"Sir, my friend is very sick." little shadow stepped out from under the umbrella into the sun. "Please, help him,"
The old man; playful gaze turned serious. "If I had to help every ghost who seek me out then I would be dead before my age."
Little shadow gazed at Yuna and at the old man. "I... I just need a small help."
"You’re asking me the save someone. It’s not something meager, is it?" the man placed the shearing scissors down and fully looked at him. "What can you give me?"
Little shadow was baffled and shocked. Eh had nothing. He was literally a ghost. And eric was not a rich person. He was basically adopted by his brother just a few days ago.
He bit his lips, aggrieved.
"I want your master’s help; can you promise me that?"
"I promise! I promise!"
"Good, let’s head to the hospital,"
