The Rules of Blood Chapter 147

“Vita la Nima,” Blanc finished the prayer.

“Nima,” said all except Allegra, who watched in confusion at the weird ritual they were having.

But as the others started eating, so did she.

And the first spoonful of porridge was like a wave of warmth for her empty stomach.

The porridge was warm and smooth on her tongue, and the oats were mushed to absolute perfection, melting in her mouth.

The sweet taste of coconut water, pulp, bananas, and berries all around and inside the porridge made this breakfast so unique for Allegra’s stomach that she, with total certainty, could say that she had never eaten such an amazing thing.

“It’s delicious,” Allegra said out loud, her usual cold demeanor faltering slightly, before taking a sip of the berry juice Blanc made, which made her eyes jump wide open as if she had just woken up from a deep slumber.

“Haha, thank you,” Blanc laughed at her reaction, “I do not know how much it will help you, but eat your fill before you leave.”

Though Miyanna stared deeply at Blanc as he spoke, a small pinch from a giggling Celine calmed her down, as they all focused back on their meal with normal banter here and there about their plans for today.

And so it was, then half an hour later, breakfast had concluded, and the twins bid a swift farewell to Allegra before leaving back to their tents to get ready.

Leaving only Blanc, Celine, and Miyanna near the fire, facing Allegra.

“Here, for your hospitality and advice,” Allegra said, placing the one hundred gold coins she had on the ground.

“This is the first time I’m getting paid by someone I stabbed,” Blanc muttered, looking at the coin purse. “That’s too excessive, though.”

“I insist,” Allegra pushed the coin purse forward.

“Why?” Miyanna asked, looking suspiciously at her.

“I do not want to owe you anything,” Allegra explained, “It is not our way to not settle a debt.” Tʜe source of this ᴄontent ɪs N()velFire.net

“How kind of you,” Miyanna replied sarcastically.

“Calm down, sister,” Celine intervened, “Since that’s how she wants to settle this, then let her.”

“Thank you for understanding,” Allegra nodded, before getting on her feet, “Well then.”

“Wait,” Blanc said, as he rose on his feet as well, putting his head forward, “How was it you said it last time? Ah, yes, good day. And may we never meet again.”

Stolen novel; please report.

“Or has that changed now?” Celine added, doing the same thing Blanc did.

Allegra stared at the three, just as Miyanna, not saying anything, got up as well.

She, without delaying further, and without replying to Celine’s question, shook their hands one by one and turned on her heels.

After a few steps, the hair on her back, hidden by the clothes she wore, jumped out, swallowing Allegra whole, before moments later, her spirit bear form began walking.

Though she left the question hanging in the air, she turned to the side and bowed her head slightly before bursting into a sprint away from them.

“That’s that,” Blanc sighed, relieved, as he turned back and headed towards the tent to get ready for the day ahead.

“She was nicer than last time,” Celine added, following closely behind, “Don’t you think so, Miyanna?”

“I couldn’t care less,” Miyanna replied as they walked side by side.

Blanc chuckled, hearing her, entering the tent, “On that, we can agree, my love.”

“Do you not care about her?” Miyanna asked.

“Why should I?” he asked, “The only thing I hope is that they defeat Blood Certa and leave us alone, for good.”

A smile crept on Miyanna’s face as Blanc spoke, until, as he finished his sentence, she jumped on his back, saying, “I love you so much.”

“Haha,” Blanc laughed as he jumped on the bed, “So do I, but why are you so happy?”

“It doesn’t matter now, hehe.” Miyanna joined in laughter, before kissing Blanc, “How about making a kid?” she said as she parted her lips from his.

And Blanc’s eyes went wide with surprise, so much so that he stuttered slightly, “A-a kid?”

“Why? Don’t you want to?” Miyanna asked.

“Of course I do,” Blanc said, as he pecked at her lips, “But do you think this is a good moment for such a thing?”

“Not now, now,” Miyanna replied, rolling her eyes, “Tonight, tomorrow, next week.”

Celine couldn’t help but laugh, hearing Miyanna speaking, “Somebody is impatient, it seems.”

“You are pregnant already, Celine. It’s my turn now,” Miyanna said, getting up from the bed and heading towards her bag to get ready.

“I am, yes, but so will you. These things happen even if we try to achieve them or not. It’s natural. We will get pregnant, give birth, and at some point, get pregnant again until we can no longer,” Celine replied.

“But for that to happen safely,” Blanc intervened, “We need to get to a safe place, with our own people who know how to aid you best.”

“You are already doing enough,” Celine replied as she was tying a shoulder pad on.

“Enough for now, but at some point, I will run out of options, and if that time comes while we are somewhere off, who knows where, it might just spell death for you or the child,” Blanc explained.

“I know,” Celine nodded, “And Miyanna knows too, yet still wishes for it.”

“I do,” Miyanna nodded, “I know the risks, I know what could mean, but I find such death more fulfilling than most.”

But I don’t want you to die risking your life without reason, Blanc thought, but did not voice it, as he got ready.

He knew that his words held no real weight against the words of a woman who wanted to be a mother.

If it happened that Miyanna got pregnant, he had no right to tell her, or Celine, what she needed to do.

If she wishes to give birth to it, or not.

After all, she was his wife, not his property for him to do as he pleased.

“If it happens, I will be overjoyed,” said Blanc to his wives, “But for now, we have fish to catch.”
