The Runic Alchemist Chapter 839

"Give her a few people, recruit more as needed, and do this thing. Ely was it? Good job. Now, prepare yourself and give proper shape to this idea of yours. Use the experience of the older guys here. Though it’s still your idea, so ultimately it’s on you." Damian said.

"The show explaining sanctum resources would indeed be a good one. Instead of official announcements, we could make this more fun and personal, so people would be more inclined to listen. Three months. We can start this as a trial show for three months. Its success will determine if we continue it or not." Evrin added.

"Uhm, ah, me?" The girl asked nervously.

"You don’t want to?" Their channel head asked teasingly.

"I do, I will." She replied with determination.

They questioned her some more while explaining how a show worked. The girl had an idea of using the dungeon beginner floor glimmergrass to make a mana solvent that Damian used for his potions. The alchemist of the city provided quite a lot, but more was always better.

Damian bought the batch the girl had prepared after checking the quality. It wasn’t the best he had seen, but it would do. Most importantly, she had made this with very low cost to herself, so she could sell it for much bigger profit compared to the alchemist who buys glimmergrass from others.

While Damian was checking the solvent, he found some odd chemical mixed in with the mana solvent. It was familiar, but he couldn’t put a finger on it. After a bit more observation, it finally hit him.

How in the world? Could it be because of its foreign nature? A glimmergrass from the mainland and the dungeons had practically no differences.

Damian called the girl to the side and asked her to repeat the whole process of making the solvent. She was just a beginner, and her method was a basic one; there was nothing odd about it. She had two boys helping her.

"What are the classes of these two boys you mentioned?" Damian asked.

"A blacksmith and Esper." The girl replied.

Damian called the boy and asked to see his status. Normally, even he wouldn’t be able to ask someone to show his or her status, but these kids had nothing to hide, and they didn’t care for secrecy much.

Damian had to reassure her and her brother that it wasn’t anything serious. Just something special about her solvent.

Finally, the mystery was solved. The younger brother of the girl had a special Esper job called Ether Refiner.

It was the weirdest thing. Ether Refiner. A job that would make no sense to anyone in this world. It was called Ether, but it was only gasoline. And they were tiny microdroplets that evaporated in milliseconds when he used mana to create them.

He can exude or project micro-drops of gasoline-like liquid from his skin or palms. The fuel instantly begins to evaporate, filling the air with an invisible, flammable mist. It was a miracle that the guy had not blown himself and his family up by now.

It was mostly due to his inability to activate the job for more than 30 seconds. It was an extremely mana-heavy job. Converting mana directly into high-quality fuel was not easy at all. His internal organs were changed in such a way that they used a lot of mana to work. The result of which was barely noticeable.

It was pretty amazing, but there wasn’t much practical use of it in a world that had direct mana to fire and wind conversion spells. Still, Damian could design some runic tools that might turn this seemingly basic ability into something truly dangerous to deal with in close combat.

But giving such things to a kid was highly irresponsible.

There could be some future use for him, though. It was a unique thing, and who knew what upgrades he might receive in the future?

"Are you a student of the academy?" Damian asked the siblings awaiting their fate. Google seaʀᴄh NoveI★Fire.net

"No, Lord Keeper. I didn’t have any fighting skills, and I can already read and write." The boy replied.

"The academy has more classes than just fighting and basic knowledge. Can I get a promise that you will attend for all five years if I give your name for special admission?" Damian asked.

The boy hesitated, but his sister was quick in kicking him and bowing along,

"Yes, Lord Keeper. I will make sure he attends." She replied.

"Good, with your new job, it shouldn’t be hard to support yourself. Still, if it doesn’t work out, meet me again, and we will find something for you."

Damian sent the two kids away; he had been distracted long enough. The girl was smart, and he knew she would do her best to make her show popular. When he started the entertainment section in the audio channel department, this was the exact talent he wished to recruit.

The department was doing pretty good under Evrin’s supervision. He had only made a few appearances, but they were all always discussing their work passionately.

Damian got busy with his duties till Lucian came back from the academy and pulled him for dinner. It was one of those days of the week when they ate together with all of the sanctum officials in the mess hall. The VIP section of the mess hall but close enough.

Once a week, they did this to be together with everyone and share stories. Evrin and Souldealer even hired good musicians who played live music as they enjoyed themselves. It wasn’t official, so anyone could invite any friends and family they wanted to, as long as they were registered.

Ilvanya and Vidalia were present too. Ilvanya had informed her queen, and they were ready to do the dungeon sealing ceremony. Discussing with Vidalia and the rest of the heads, Damian decided to do this the day after tomorrow.

They were going to do it right. Mindseer was going to record the whole process, and they would have hundreds of scholars and mages present to notice even the slightest oddity about the whole process. All research board members needed to be informed as well.
