Manman looked at the empty seat next to Feng Yi and sat down with a big grin: "Have you missed me these past few days?"
Feng Yi propped one hand on the table, casually fiddling with a lighter: "Why should I miss you?"
Manman nearly choked with anger, thinking how this guy could be so clueless.
Listening to their conversation, Chu Ci suppressed a laugh and sat down beside Manman, whispering softly: "He’s quite handsome, but it seems he really hasn’t put you in his heart. If it doesn’t work out, maybe you should just let it go; there are plenty of fish in the sea."
"I’m determined to hang myself on this tree, don’t try to dissuade me."
Even though Manman’s voice was quiet, Feng Yi still heard it, and his lips unconsciously curled into a smile.
Fu Bin, sitting nearby, smirked playfully: "Manman, if he doesn’t miss you, I do. How about we make do with each other?"
"Get lost. Who cares if you miss me; I have no intention of settling for you." Manman shot Fu Bin a glare.
The server quickly brought the dishes to the table, mostly seafood that Han Xi loved, braised pork... basically everything a meat lover would adore.
Like a little glutton, Han Xi picked up chopsticks and began eating. She was nearly exhausted after being "tortured" by Lu Jinghan in the afternoon and needed to replenish her strength.
Lu Jinghan leaned in with a gentle smile and whispered in Han Xi’s ear, in a voice only the two of them could hear: "Mrs. Lu should eat more, so you’ll have the strength to make it up to me tonight."
Han Xi almost choked on her food, reaching under the table to squeeze Lu Jinghan’s leg: "You are nothing but a beast."
With a serious nod, Lu Jinghan’s smile widened: "That’s why Mrs. Lu needs to eat more, to feed this beast tonight."
Han Xi turned her head, intending to argue with Lu Jinghan, but their lips accidentally brushed against each other.
"What are you two doing? There are so many people here, shouldn’t you be more discreet? If you want to kiss, do it at home."
Fu Bin lounged lazily in his chair, grinning mischievously.
Instantly, Han Xi’s face turned red like a blooming rose.
Lu Jinghan looked at the blushing Han Xi and glared fiercely at Fu Bin.
"I’m going to the restroom," Han Xi said, embarrassed, as she got up and headed outside, with Chu Ci following: "I’m coming too."
As soon as they left the private room, Han Xi’s phone rang in her hand, with another text from a strange number.
Frowning, Han Xi tapped to open it, and it was a photo of her and Li Chenghao kissing.
"Who sent it?" Chu Ci asked worriedly.
After deleting the photo, Han Xi also blocked the number: "Li Chenghao. It’s been several days now, and he sends me photos every night. Even when I block the number, he uses a different one to send them again the next day."
Chu Ci led Han Xi to the window in the hallway: "Does Lu Jinghan know?"
Han Xi shook her head: "I haven’t told him."
"I think Li Chenghao is a bit obsessive; haven’t you thought about having a proper talk with him?"
Han Xi leaned halfway against the window sill, shrugging helplessly: "I’ve said everything very clearly, but he insists on pestering me, and I can’t help it."
"By the way, what’s the deal with Gu Beichen? You’re always the one without rumors." Han Xi almost forgot about him.
