Han Xi dialed the number, and soon a gentle and refined voice came through the receiver: "Missing me?"
"Li Chenghao, you’re crazy. Why are you stalking me?"
Han Xi tried to lower her voice, but every word was spoken through clenched teeth.
"You used to pick out my clothes for me, and you said that I am more suited to wearing dark colors."
Li Chenghao stood in the corner, his enigmatic eyes watched the woman not far away through the white smoke.
"What exactly do you want? We’re already broken up, and it’s never going to happen."
Han Xi really didn’t feeling, as if everywhere she went there were eyes watching her, constantly having to be on guard for Li Chenghao suddenly appearing to do something to her.
Li Chenghao flicked the cigarette ash from his fingertips onto the ground, his eyes turning deep: "I want you to be my woman, to wake up in my arms every day."
"Li Chenghao, you bastard."
After saying this, Han Xi hung up the phone fiercely, picked up her stuff from the ground, and went to find Chu Ci and the others.
"Han Xi, where did you just run off to?" Manman asked as she took the card handed over by the shop assistant.
Han Xi sat absent-mindedly on the sofa, recalling what had just happened, feeling uneasy and inexplicably anxious.
"Xiao Xi, I’m asking you, why are you zoning out?" Manman walked over and nudged Han Xi’s arm.
Chu Ci looked a bit worriedly at the dazed Han Xi: "What’s wrong? Why do you seem so distracted?"
Han Xi forced a smile: "I’m fine, just... thinking about things."
"It’s good you’re fine, let’s hurry and get something to eat, I’m starving." Manman urged as she grabbed the items.
The three left the shop and went to the underground parking lot. Manman had taken a taxi in the morning, so Chu Ci suggested they all take Han Xi’s car, and her car would be driven away by her agent later.
After putting their things in the trunk, the three of them got in the car, and Han Xi turned the steering wheel and drove out of the parking lot.
Twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of a rather nice-looking restaurant, where they immediately ran into Gu Beichen upon entering.
"Chu Ci, what a coincidence that you’re here for a meal too."
Gu Beichen was dressed in casual attire, with delicate features beneath a black baseball cap, looking like a man who had stepped out of a painting.
Chu Ci raised her head, and smiled gently: "Just finished shopping with friends, and thought of coming by for a meal."
Manman proactively stepped forward to greet: "You’re the star rumored to have a thing with our Chu Ci, so handsome."
Gu Beichen gazed at Chu Ci with a smile: "It’s not a rumor, I’m really pursuing her; she just hasn’t agreed yet."
"Chu Ci, what are you hesitating about? If it were me, I’d have been all over him by now."
Han Xi tugged Manman’s arm, whispering: "Why do you jump at everyone you meet? You said the same thing about Lu Jinghan. If Feng Yi finds out you’re always thinking of pouncing on other men, he might just dump you right away."
"Don’t jinx it. I just slept with him."
Gu Beichen looked at Chu Ci: "Mind if I join you?"
Chu Ci glanced at Han Xi and Manman, seeking their opinion, since they weren’t familiar with Gu Beichen and sitting together might be awkward.
Manman and Han Xi knowingly chimed in unison: "We don’t mind, the more the merrier."
They all headed into a private room, Gu Beichen sat next to Chu Ci. After ordering, the waiter quickly brought the food.
