Raising his head, President Lu’s deep and prominent features broke into Han Xi’s clear eyes.
Han Xi straightened up, taking two steps back before speaking: "I’m fine, thank you, Mr. Lu."
Just a while ago at the hospital, Lu Jinghan was still sporting casual attire, but now he was in a sharp suit, with two buttons at the collar of his white shirt left undone. Beneath his thick short hair were eyes vast as the stars, making him exude an aura of authority of one in a high position.
From the moment Han Xi entered the house, Lu Jinghan had been observing her. He saw and heard everything that had just happened.
Shi Yu and Lu Jinghan exchanged a nod as a greeting, but Li Chuxia was particularly eager, fixing the dress wrinkled by Li Manman, she spoke with a flattering tone: "Hello President Lu, I’m Shi Yu’s fiancée, Li Chuxia."
Lu Jinghan didn’t look at her, instead lowering his eyes to ask Han Xi: "Would you like me to take you home?"
"No need, Mr. Lu, our car is just outside." Han Xi responded politely.
Ignored as if she were invisible, Chuxia’s face turned dark.
Shi Yu looked apologetically at Han Xi and Li Manman; he wasn’t angry at all with these two scolding and hitting him, thinking he deserved it for doing such a thing.
"Xiao Xi, you and Manman go back first, I will explain to Chu Ci myself."
Han Xi ignored him, pulling Li Manman along to leave.
The endless drizzle pierced through the brilliant lights and fell upon Han Xi’s tall and slender silhouette, and only after watching her get into the red sports car did Lu Jinghan turn to head back to the hall.
Li Chuxia knew all along that Shi Yu didn’t love her, and she knew even more that her marriage wasn’t up to her; a commercial marriage was inevitable. She didn’t even fantasize about marrying for love.
So, she had made a prior arrangement with Shi Yu—both could secretly have affairs, but they must be discreet, because the Shi Family and Li Family were prominent figures; they couldn’t afford this embarrassment, and they had to portray a loving couple in front of others.
Upon returning home, Li Manman angrily threw her shoes aside, walked barefoot to the sofa to sit down, and took out her phone from her bag to call Chu Ci.
"I think it’s better to let Shi Yu explain it to Chu Ci himself. Besides, Chu Ci is filming now, and if you call her , she would definitely have trouble concentrating on work."
Han Xi took the phone from her hand, taking a deep breath. She dared not even imagine the look of sadness on Chu Ci’s face once she found out.
Li Manman grabbed a pillow and held it tightly, kneading it vigorously, wanting to tear it apart.

"Let’s visit Chu Ci at the set tomorrow. She’s been betrayed yet still diligently working, the more I think about it, the angrier I get. You know, why didn’t I just tear that bitch’s face apart earlier or at least scratch it?"
Li Manman felt her combat power was rather weak earlier; next time she saw that Chuxia she’d sure fight tooth and nail.
"Alright, I’ll take leave from the hospital, and we’ll visit Chu Ci together tomorrow."
Back when Han Xi was drowning in despair, feeling void of everything, the friendship among the three of them was her last resort. Now, with Chu Ci facing such matters, she and Manman would still stand by her.
