Lu Jinghan lowered his gaze, his eyes inadvertently falling on Han Xi’s injured hand: "Didn’t you say you weren’t hurt? Does it hurt?"
"It’s nothing, just a scratch. Some ointment will take care of it."
Han Xi brushed it off lightly, not wanting him to worry.
Lu Jinghan frowned as he picked up the medical kit from the ground and found some gauze and medicine inside: "Hold out your hand, I’ll apply some ointment. Is there anywhere else you’re injured?"
Han Xi obediently extended her hand: "There are scratches on my arm too."
Lu Jinghan’s hand paused, and he looked up, displeased: "Try lying to me again. If you don’t tell me, I’ll worry even more when I see it myself, silly girl."
Han Xi smiled without saying anything, sitting on a large rock, her clear eyes seemed to be filled with stars, without any blemish.
Lu Jinghan bowed his head, his well-defined fingertips holding a cotton swab gently applying medicine to Han Xi, occasionally blowing on it with his mouth: "Does it hurt?"
Han Xi shook her head: "It doesn’t hurt."
Occasionally, people passing by would talk: "I heard the things on that truck were sent by a President Lu from An City, what a kind person."
"Yes indeed, good people will be rewarded with good fortune. May the heavens bless this President Lu with a virtuous wife and a pair of children."
Han Xi listened to the people’s discussions and asked Lu Jinghan in a low voice: "Was it you?"
"Why is Mrs. Lu blushing?" Lu Jinghan’s lips curled into a smile, answering with a question instead.
With his comment, Han Xi blushed even more, like a ripe cherry.
