Han Xi anxiously stared at her phone; she was a bit scared to stay home alone now. With Li Manman not around, what would she do?
Just as she was about to reply to a WeChat message, the office door was knocked on.
Han Xi looked up as a woman wearing a tight black dress and a long trench coat walked in on high heels. Her raven, wavy hair flowed freely, and her lips bore a mauvy shade of lipstick. Her lightly made-up face carried a faint and elusive smile.
"Hello, Doctor Han." Lin Weiyang gracefully sat down across from Han Xi.
Han Xi couldn’t remember who this woman was; after all, she had only seen Lin Weiyang once: "May I ask who you are?"
Lin Weiyang raised a hand to tuck her long hair behind her ear, a smile on her lips that didn’t reach her eyes: "We’ve met before, when Jing Han was sick."
Han Xi nodded, evidently recalling it now: "Is there something you need from me?"
Clever as Han Xi was, she certainly did not think this woman had come for medical advice. A woman’s intuition told her that this woman likely liked Lu Jinghan.
"Lin Weiyang, Doctor Han, like Jing Han, you can just call me Weiyang."
Han Xi smiled silently and nodded, waiting for what she’d say next.
Lin Weiyang’s manicured hands intertwined on the table as she began nonchalantly: "Doctor Han, you’re with Jing Han for money, aren’t you? Yes, he is so outstanding, women always flock to him, and you’re just one of them."
Han Xi regarded her impassively: "So, Miss Lin’s purpose for coming to me is....."
"To leave Jing Han, how much do you need?"
Lin Weiyang took out a check from her LV bag, waiting for Han Xi to speak.
"If I’m not mistaken, Miss Lin wants to be with Jing Han but was rejected by him, which is why you’ve found your way to me."
Han Xi remained calm and unprovoked, maintaining an indifferent demeanor.
Prodded at a sore spot, Lin Weiyang’s expression turned venomous, her pitch-black eyes holding a deadly glare: "As long as you’re willing to leave, any amount would do."
Han Xi chuckled: "Miss Lin, I’m afraid you’ve misunderstood. I’m simply together with Lu Jinghan because I genuinely like him as a person. Besides, I’m not a gold digger and quite well-off."
Lin Weiyang’s grip on the check was so tight her fingertips turned pale. She suddenly let out a mocking laugh and spoke disdainfully: "Those mangled, dead cats, Jing Han’s found out it was me, but he hasn’t punished me. This implies you’re not so valued in his heart after all. Maybe he’s just looking for a woman to play with out of momentary loneliness. I overestimated you."
Han Xi trembled inside, staring at the delicate yet sinister woman before her, hard to conceive she’d commit such bloody, perverse acts.
Watching Han Xi’s face turn pale inch by inch, Lin Weiyang felt incredibly satisfied inside.
"Oh, by the way, if Doctor Han’s good in bed, perhaps you’ll stay by Jing Han’s side a bit longer, who knows?"
Lin Weiyang stood up, speaking matter-of-factly, her smile full of allure.
It had to be admitted, Han Xi was hurt by Lin Weiyang’s words. So that man already knew everything yet did nothing; was she truly.....not important?
Watching Lin Weiyang leave, Han Xi laid across the table, her mind a chaotic mess.
