"Hmm, I’ll be back as soon as I’m done with things. Make sure to take care of yourself these two days."
"I know, focus on your work and don’t worry about me."
Twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of the villa. Lu Jinghan got out and walked Han Xi into the house, and the two of them changed their shoes at the entrance before going back to the bedroom.
"I’ll help you pack your luggage first."
Han Xi took out a suitcase from the cabinet, intending for Lu Jinghan to pack clothes and daily items, but Lu Jinghan hugged her from behind: "No need, I’ll pack myself later. I just want to hold you and lie down for a while now."
Han Xi turned her head, her clear eyes shallowly looking at Lu Jinghan: "Alright, I’ll go change my clothes first."
"Go ahead."
Han Xi took a set of cotton homewear from the wardrobe, changed into it, and got on the bed. Actually, she had already felt a bit sleepy at the hospital earlier.
Lu Jinghan lifted the quilt and lay down on his side, reaching out to hold the girl in his arms: "If you want to go out while I’m away, have Sister Zhang go with you. Remember to take your calcium and folic acid on time, and be very careful walking. Don’t fall."
"Got it, you don’t need to worry about me." Han Xi’s heart felt so warm.
Lu Jinghan raised his hand to touch the girl’s belly, his tone wasn’t the gentle one from earlier, rather a bit stern: "Little Bun, Daddy will be on a business trip for two days. You can’t keep bothering Mommy while I’m away; she’s always vomiting and it’s hard for her."
"It’s not Little Bun’s fault that I throw up; it’s just normal pregnancy reactions."
Han Xi felt her Little Bun was so innocent, fiercely protective of the baby.
Lu Jinghan affectionately rubbed Han Xi’s head with his chin, the smile on his lips deep enough to drown somebody.
Han Xi lay in Lu Jinghan’s arms and unknowingly fell asleep. Lu Jinghan covered Han Xi with the blanket, carefully got off the bed, and started packing the luggage.
When Han Xi woke up, the sky outside was already darkening. Groggy from sleep, she pulled off the blanket and sat up, looking at the bouquet of roses on the bedside table, her lips curling into a sweet smile.
She got off the bed, found a vase to put the flowers in, washed her face in the bathroom, and went downstairs: "Sister Zhang, has Jing Han left?"
Sister Zhang, in the kitchen, heard the voice, dried her hands, and came out: "Madam, Mr. just left not long ago. Before he left, he told me to take good care of you at home."
Han Xi nodded, her heart suddenly feeling empty. It seemed she started missing Lu Jinghan now.
Han Xi sat on the sofa in the living room, picked up the remote, and turned on the TV, randomly choosing a variety show to watch.
The doorbell of the villa suddenly rang, and Sister Zhang hurriedly put down what she was doing to open the door: "Who are you looking for?"
Zhong Li at the door tucked her wind-blown long hair behind her ear and smiled: "I’m Xiao Xi’s sister."
Upon hearing the voice, Han Xi turned her body and looked towards the entrance: "Sis, why are you here?"
Zhong Li changed her shoes and walked smilingly to the living room: "Jing Han just called me, saying he has to go on a sudden business trip for two days, and asked me to come over to keep you company after work."
Before boarding the plane, Lu Jinghan called Zhong Li. He originally wanted Manman to come over and accompany Xiao Xi, but felt she might not be reliable, so he trusted the girl to Zhong Li more.
