Zhong Li lifted her tear-stained eyelashes, her clear eyes showing defiance and disdain: "Do you really want to sleep with me?"
"Why would you think that?"
"Haven’t you made it obvious enough? I really don’t have the time or energy to play with you."
Gu Nanxi’s dark eyes tightened, exuding a strong sense of authority: "I’m serious, I never intended to play with you."
"But I don’t want to be in a relationship, so stop bothering me."
As soon as Zhong Li finished speaking, the elevator doors opened. She forcefully removed Gu Nanxi’s hand from her grip, stepped out of the elevator in her high heels.
Gu Nanxi walked out of the elevator with one hand in his pocket, striding to the company entrance. He pulled out a cigarette box from his pocket, extracted a cigarette, lit it, and the white smoke that escaped his lips was blown away by the cold wind.
He only threw the cigarette butt on the ground after watching Zhong Li’s car drive away, extinguishing it with his shiny leather shoe before striding toward his own car.
When Zhong Li drove back to Lu Jinghan’s villa, Han Xi was already asleep. She showered in the guest bathroom before quietly returning to the master bedroom and slipping under the covers.
The next morning, Han Xi opened her eyes and smiled sweetly at Zhong Li lying beside her: "Morning, sis."
Zhong Li turned over, gently brushing the girl’s hair with her hand: "Come with me to look at houses later, I want to move."
"Why suddenly move? Is it because of Gu Nanxi?"
"I don’t want to talk about him. Later, I’ll send a resignation letter to the company’s HR and then go for a new job interview."
Han Xi frowned and sat up in bed: "Sis, have you really thought it through?"
After last night’s incident, especially with company colleagues witnessing it, Zhong Li had no face staying any longer. If she didn’t leave, she’d drown in criticism.
"I’ve thought it over, come with me to look at houses."
Zhong Li smiled, lifted the covers, and got out of bed. She casually tied up her long hair and headed to the bathroom.
Han Xi followed, leaning sideways against the bathroom doorframe: "Sis, my previous place is still empty. You can move in whenever you want."
"I’d rather buy my own place. I want to stay in An City; I need a home of my own."
"Alright then." Since Zhong Li insisted, Han Xi didn’t push further.
After freshening up, the two went downstairs to the restaurant for breakfast. After eating, Han Xi threw up twice, so they took a moment to recover before driving out.
The car quickly stopped at the real estate agency, where Zhong Li linked arms with Han Xi and walked inside. An employee enthusiastically approached to assist them.
"What kind of property are you two looking for?"
Zhong Li removed her sunglasses, slightly smiled with her red lips: "Do you have studio apartments in good locations, convenient for commuting?"
"There are currently four units available, all in good locations. Should I take you to see them now?"
Zhong Li nodded: "Alright."
Throughout the morning, they viewed all four apartments. Finally, Zhong Li chose one closer to Han Xi’s home, saying it would be more convenient if anything happened in the future.
After signing the contract, Zhong Li paid in full, took the keys to the studio apartment, and returned home with Han Xi.
When they got home, Sister Zhang had already prepared lunch. Han Xi went to her room to change clothes before coming downstairs to eat.
