Han Xi looked up and glared at him, her face turning even redder.
Sister Zhang watched the young couple’s affectionate demeanor and felt genuinely happy. For so many years, Lu Jinghan had been alone, and even this house seemed very desolate. Now with Han Xi there, it felt much livelier.
After dinner, Lu Jinghan accompanied Han Xi to watch TV in the living room. Seeing the little woman beside him hesitate several times, Lu Jinghan slightly parted his thin lips: "Is there something on your mind?"

"Impossible." Lu Jinghan uttered these three words calmly, yet his tone left no room for doubt.
"But Lin Weiyang’s mother..."
"That can’t be a reason for you to feel aggrieved."
Lu Jinghan lowered his eyes and kissed Han Xi’s small lips, their embrace intense and entwined, their breaths filled with each other’s heartbeats.
Having just cleaned up the kitchen, Sister Zhang came out and saw this scene. She covered her aging face and retreated back to the kitchen. This young couple really took her by surprise; even though she was experienced, she felt very embarrassed.
Late at night, after seeing Han Xi sleep in his arms, Lu Jinghan slowly withdrew his arm from under Han Xi’s neck and got up to make a phone call on the balcony.
He held the phone to his ear with one hand, a cigarette pinched between his fingers, the scarlet tip flickering at his distinct fingertips.
As soon as the call connected, Lu Jinghan spoke in a low voice: "Old man, you’re really ruthless, willing to aggrieve your own granddaughter-in-law to help the Lin Family."
On the other end, Old Master Lu was woken up in the middle of the night and wasn’t pleased, but hearing his grandson angry, he had to swallow his temper.
"I truly had no other choice. Weiyang did go too far, but for her mother’s sake, just let it go. Besides, Han Xi isn’t bothered, why should you be?"
"Your granddaughter-in-law lied for your sake and didn’t say you’ve contacted her. She isn’t indifferent; she just didn’t want to make things difficult for you."
Lu Jinghan flicked ash into the ashtray and continued, "Her mother’s passing cannot be used as a reason for Lin Weiyang to act recklessly. I won’t allow my woman to suffer even a bit of grievance."

Old Master Lu had no choice but to relent: "Fine, I won’t meddle, and I’ll let you decide."
