The group of young nurses immediately fell silent, each lowering their heads to focus on their work. After all, Chen Zheng was the son of the hospital’s shareholder; it was a simple matter for him to dismiss anyone he wanted.
Han Xi had just finished a surgery and was a bit tired. As she leaned on the desk for a moment’s rest, she saw Chen Zheng enter with a penetrating gaze.
"Xiao Xi, is Lu Jinghan hiding another woman from you?"

Chen Zheng’s eyes swept over Lin Weiyang’s father, and he said worriedly, "Xiao Xi, I’ll be right outside. If anything happens, call me."
Han Xi nodded with a light smile.
After the door was closed, Lin Weiyang’s father sat opposite Han Xi, crossing his hands on the table. He spoke in a deep, powerful voice, "Doctor Han, you are indeed very beautiful."
There was a trace of disdain in his words. As smart as Han Xi was, she understood he was insinuating that she used her looks to seduce Lu Jinghan.
Han Xi said nothing, quietly sitting in her chair, waiting to hear what he would say next.
Lin Dongyang paused for a few seconds before speaking again, "Weiyang’s mother and I have been close friends with Lu Jing’s parents for years. The two kids grew up together, and we parents had privately discussed arranging their engagement. Unfortunately, before we could... all three of them were gone."

Han Xi found it truly amusing. His daughter was too precious to be wronged, yet was she someone who could be casually bullied and trampled upon?
Nevertheless, Han Xi also envied Lin Weiyang, having a father who cherished her so much, unlike her who didn’t even have a family.
"I’m sorry, Mr. Lin, I cannot agree to your request."
Faced with Lin Weiyang’s father’s unreasonable demand, Han Xi didn’t lose her temper but simply stated her stance calmly.

Lin Dongyang looked at Han Xi with sharp eyes, his words as hurtful as they could be.
