Han Xi raised her head and held up the little red book in front of Lu Jinghan, speaking in disbelief, "I actually got married?"
"Yes, Mrs. Lu, even if you want to regret it, it’s too late now."
"I’m not thinking of regretting it; it’s just that being so happy feels a bit unreal."
Han Xi really couldn’t believe that she had just registered her marriage with Lu Jinghan; she was now Mrs. Lu.
Lu Jinghan cupped Han Xi’s face, his distinct fingertips gently brushing her cheek: "We are indeed married now, and you are rightfully my wife, Han Xi. I will treat you well for the rest of my life."
Han Xi’s clear eyes met Lu Jinghan’s deep black eyes; the man in front of her would be her lover and family for the rest of her life, someone she could rely on anytime, anywhere.
How lucky she was to have met him in this lifetime; fortunately, she met him.
"Let’s get in the car." Lu Jinghan interlocked his fingers tightly with Han Xi’s small hand, then walked towards the car.
Both of them got in the car, and Han Xi leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, looking at the marriage certificate in her hand with a honey-like smile.
Lu Jinghan glanced at Han Xi in the passenger seat before turning the steering wheel onto the main road.
Twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of the villa. The two of them got out, holding hands as they walked into the house and changed into slippers at the entrance.
Sister Zhang, who was cleaning, saw them return and said with a smile, "Sir, Ma’am, you’re back."
Han Xi nodded with a smile, greeted Sister Zhang, and then went upstairs, with Lu Jinghan following her up.
Han Xi pushed open the door and entered the bedroom, her eyes landing on a large bouquet of red roses on the bed, surrounded by scattered rose petals, looking very romantic.
Han Xi walked over, delightedly picking up the flowers from the bed, her face appearing even more beautiful against the roses, her smile as radiant as the stars.
Lu Jinghan picked up an exquisite little square box from the bed, knelt on one knee beside Han Xi, opened the box, and took out a diamond ring while gazing affectionately at Han Xi, "Mrs. Lu, thank you for agreeing to marry me."
Han Xi was overwhelmed with emotion, her damp lashes thick with tears, "Mr. Lu, you can never bully me, yell at me, or have disputes with me in the future; you can only cherish, spoil, and love me."
Lu Jinghan looked earnestly at Han Xi, raising his hand to wipe away the tears at the corner of her eyes, "How could I ever bring myself to bully you? I will only spoil and love you and won’t argue with you for a lifetime."
Mr. Lu was right; in the years to come, he would cherish Mrs. Lu with his life.
Lu Jinghan slipped the ring onto Han Xi’s ring finger and kissed the back of her hand, "Mrs. Lu, please help me put on the ring too."
Han Xi picked up the other ring in the box, her eyes catching the inside of the ring where their names were engraved, "Mr. Lu, in the future, when you give me gifts, please do not give me rings anymore, as I intend to wear this wedding ring for a lifetime."
