NINE WEEKS LATER
Over the last two months every dream I had been given by the Moon Goddess had come true. But because of the warnings, so many packs had been spared by rogue attacks. Which meant that we had allies around the country from some packs that we didn’t even know existed.
And one night when I woke up I had to shake Tyler awake.
"Alright. What pack is it this time?" He asked.
"No pack. I’m in labor." I announced.
"What?" He asked jumping up frantically.
"Calm down before you hurt yourself. Just get my bag. Call Dr. Missy. We are going to the hospital." I say calmly trying to get out of bed with my massive stomach.
"Alright. I can handle that." He says. So he grabs my bag and mind linked Dr. Missy.
He helped me downstairs and we headed straight to the car and he sped the whole way to the hospital.
"Would you slow down. You’re going to kill the whole three of us before we even get to the hospital." I yelled.
"Are you in a lot of pain?" He asked.
"Not at the moment. But you will be if you don’t slow down." I yelled. So he slowed down, but just slightly.
When we got to the hospital they took me up to a birthing suite and got me all settled in.
"Oh shit. Contraction." I say getting really restless. And it wasn’t a little one either.
"It’s alright baby. I’m right here." Tyler says sitting right next to me. And I grab the front of his shirt.
"I’m not sure if that’s just a good thing." I scream at him.
When the contraction was over Dr. Missy checked me and said that this isn’t going to take long. I’m already 7cm dilated. First babies usually aren’t this fast.
"Don’t forget. It belongs to Tyler." I say. And she started laughing.
"Yeah. I forgot about that." She says. And Tyler let out a small growl.
"Oh shut up." I snapped at him.
"You were really sweet to me today." Tyler says.
"That was before my cervix bones started spreading open to try and push a watermelon through it." I said.
"If I could take the pain, I wish I could." He says.
"Sorry big bad Alpha. You’d already be crying by now." I say. And Missy tried to stifle her giggles.
It was another three hours in that delivery room when it was finally time to push and it only took a couple of times before the baby was here and I heard it’s cries for the first time.
"Congratulations. You have a beautiful baby boy." Missy says wrapping him in a blanket and handing him to me.
I had completely calmed down almost instantly and the pain was gone. It was unbelievable. And I was looking into the face of this beautiful little boy that Tyler and I created together.
Tyler was right over my shoulder looking into his face and he was also speechless. He looked like he was on the verge of crying but he held it back. And I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.
"Have you thought of a name yet?" Missy asked.
"Yeah. Alpha Lucas sounded pretty good to us." I say.
"Lucas. That’s a beautiful name." She says. " The whole pack is going to be so excited." She says.
"Oh man. I am holding the future heir to this pack." I say. Tyler shook his head.
"He’s going to be a brilliant heir." Tyler says.
"Here." I say handing Lucas over realizing that Tyler hadn’t even held him yet.
He took Lucas off me and he sat on the chair beside me and cuddles into him. He looked so tiny in Tyler’s massive arms but it looked right at the same time. It was something special to see.
I snuck my camera to the nurse and she got a couple of photos of them two together without Tyler noticing because he was too preoccupied with the baby. And I couldn’t help but sit there and stare at them.
"Well, while the Alpha has the baby maybe you should go and get a shower. The bathroom is through that door." Missy says.
"That sounds perfect. I am covered in gunk and blood." I say. So I went to have a shower and got on clean pajama’s and I went back to the room.
They moved us to a private room and when we got there I needed to try to breast feed but there was a nurse in there with me helping me trying to get the baby to latch.
Tyler stepped out while he made the announcement. He kept me out of the mind link because I did not need that many people in my head right now. Not while I needed to focus on Lucas. But he told me what he was going to say.
I, Alpha Tyler Peterson, am proud to announce the birth of my baby boy names Lucas at 5am this morning. Weighing in at 8 pound 9, he is everything that we could have hoped for and more. The delivery went perfectly and the Luna and I would appreciate our privacy at this time while we adjust to our new roles as parents. Thank you very much.
It took Tyler a while to come back in and he tells me that almost everyone in the pack congratulated him.
I hated hospitals and Tyler knew that. I wanted to go home but I was told that I needed to stay at least a day or two. They had to make sure that everything was going according to plan after giving birth. Especially because I was the Luna.
Being the Luna had it’s perks, but there were definitely it’s downsides too. Which really sucked. But I knew that they were just protecting me and making sure that I was alright.
The nurse came in to check on me and I got Tyler to get up on the bed with me and I handed the camera to the nurse and Tyler scowled.
"Our first family picture." I say to him and that changed his mind. We definitely didn’t look our best after the labor and delivery but I didn’t care. It was real and it was us. Our family Our new family who I couldn’t wait to introduce to the rest of our family. But right now, I was completely content with just the three of us. I could stay this way forever. Happiness doesn’t describe how I was feeling. Or how Tyler was feeling. This was the happiest day of our lives. Nothing would beat this. Not by a long shot.
