The Shadow of Great Britain Chapter 79

79: Shelf Remarks 79: Shelf Remarks The book launch is at noon tomorrow, and although this isn’t my first launch, I still can’t help feeling a bit nervous and uneasy.

After all, each book represents a new beginning, a fresh story, and a novel experience.

Although I’ve written about history before, this is indeed my first time delving into the Victorian Era.

To be honest, before starting this book, I discussed a lot with my editor Canaan, and I am very grateful for his inspiration and help in setting the story.

Initially, the plan was to write a fantasy story set during the Victorian Era.

However, as preparations for the book advanced and I read more relevant literature, I eventually realized that even without altering the historical setting, simply creating from the genuine historical backdrop of the Victorian Era was fascinating enough.

This led to the creation of “The Shadow of Great Britain.”

In “A Brief History of Humankind,” the author divides human history into several stages, distinguishing them with three landmark events.

The first began in ancient times with the Cognitive Revolution, which ultimately ended that era with Homo sapiens, who had superior organizational abilities, defeating many other species like the Neanderthals.

The second started ten thousand years ago with the Agricultural Revolution, which altered the way humans produced food, shifting from foraging and hunting to settled agriculture.

Dot-like city-states were established on this foundation, and the flames of civilization began to flicker.

Slavery, feudalism, centralization…

various forms of social organization made their appearance, and various empires and kingdoms took turns taking the stage.

The third was the Industrial and Technological Revolution, which began two hundred years ago. Googlᴇ search novel✶fire.net

To be honest, debates still rage in the academic world about why the Industrial Revolution first began in Britain, a small island isolated by the sea.

Some attribute it to the accumulation of colonial plunder, some to Britain being the first to establish a constitutional monarchy, some to Britain’s naval and trading traditions, and others believe the Industrial Revolution was purely coincidental.

As for the specific reasons, I am not clear, nor do I understand; I can only present a corner of that era as best as I can based on my modest understanding.

Of course, my perspective cannot represent that era.

Here, I still need to quote a famous saying by Marco Aurelius—I paraphrase here: “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact.

Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.”

Alright, I’ve spoken a lot of nonsense.

It’s time to talk about the launch.

Here, I must thank all the reader friends for your favorites, recommendations, votes, and rewards, as well as Old Wolf and Demon Melon for their chapter promotions.

I truly appreciate everyone’s support.

As for the launch, of course, I will still ask for a subscription, aiming for some initial subscriptions tomorrow.

The update schedule for tomorrow’s launch should be five releases, followed by a maintained pace of two releases per day.

The added update rule is that with over three thousand initial subscriptions on the launch, for every additional thousand, there will be one more update; for every thousand Monthly Tickets, there will be another added update.

Alliance Hierarch adds an update, and so on for the Silver Alliance.

Additionally, I just had our book operator, Witch Witch, help establish a reader group.

The group number is available in both the author’s note and the description.

You can join by casting a Monthly Ticket and having 100 fan points.

Lastly, thank you again for your support.

Tomorrow at noon, if you have time, please come and make an initial subscription.

I sincerely appreciate it!
