Vacuse stared at the black feather and his eyes lit up with greed, because he felt an intense hunger to take the feather and eat it.
Now that he had completed the first form in core creation, he better understood the amount of power contained in the Phoenix feather and what he could gain by devouring it.

Vacuse was on his feet in an instant, his face filled with shock. "What...?"
He now knew how incredible Authority and Law were, especially Law, as it was not something that anyone could obtain easily. He looked at the black feather in amazement. "There's something like that in here?"
Rith snorted. '...the feather is a real treasure. I honestly thought that the owner would have come and killed you for it, but they seem to be standing back to see how things will go...'
Vacuse's eyes sparked. "Is that so? Then wouldn't it be better for me to use it instead of void creation?"
'...you fool. This is not how things are done. If you devour it, then you can only gain the power in it, not the law, since your body can't handle it. In fact, your stage isn't made to carry the law as of now...'
'...but if you use it as the core for void creation, then at least you can use a bit of the law. It can be your secret weapon!...'
Vacuse swallowed and took a deep breath, hiding his greed and disappointment. "Then what type of Law can be found inside this thing?"

The snout disappeared.
The mass of flesh turned out to be something in the shape of a human at least ten feet tall with four hands. He had no face except for his eyes, but Vacuse made it as a "he."
Its skin was raw, like fresh meat that had just been ground and molded.
Connecting his limbs were threads of void.
Rith looked at him with satisfaction. '...now, implant the core. It's a very easy thing to do...'
Vacuse took the feather and placed it on the creation's chest where the heart should be.
Void creation could take any form Vacuse wanted, but he made it with the perception of a human in mind—an abnormal human.
The feather sank into the flesh and disappeared completely, as if it had never been there in the first place. The body shuddered and then relaxed.

Vacuse did. Although he felt a pang for using the Phoenix feather for void creation instead of devouring it, he still felt anticipation for what the creation was going to turn out to be.
At the same time, he took stock of all the artifacts he had. "I have the Ashen Wrap, the First General's sword, and Meatheart. Now I have the Void creation. I need to think of a name for it.
"Good. My power has increased a lot, and now I think I can even kill a third stage. Maybe a C-rank third stage."
Rith snorted. '...brat! Focus on meditation and don't let yourself be fooled...'
Vacuse smiled and did as he was told.
The following day, when Vacuse was settling down in the training courtyard, something happened.
Something that shook the whole Western Region, and its ripple spread far into the Empire.
Suddenly, the sky went dull as if a terrible storm was approaching. The strange thing was, it happened so suddenly that everyone froze.
Then came the green light that flooded the heavens, so intense and bright, washing over everything, carrying a ground-shaking force that caused an earthquake.
If that was all, it would have been easier, but the green light wasn't ordinary. It was a necromantic light that carried deadly diseases, and even though it posed no danger to Soulbearers, it made mortals tremble. They began to fall sick, while hundreds died immediately.
And the source of the green light was no other place than Burnis City. The mine beneath the city opened like a yawning monster and spewed out the green light.
Everyone powerful in the Western Region and in the Empire felt it. Even those far across the continent sensed it as well.
A Great Dungeon had opened!
Right there in Burnis City.
It was news that shook everyone who understood the implications down to their core. Even the Imperial Court was stunned, but the only person who wasn't surprised in the whole Empire was the Grand Duke of the Eastern Region, who began to laugh when he saw what was happening.
In the blink of an eye, intense attention was once again turned toward the Western Region. This time, however, the Eastern Region shared in it as well.
And this time the attention even extend beyond the Empire and to other nations.
After all, the two Regions had joint rights to Burnis City, where the Great Dungeon now appeared.
Once again, things were changing!
