The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth Chapter 44

Rith’s voice came to him then. ’..brat, stop acting high and mighty and get away from that body. Move away from it now!’

Without waiting to hear more, Vacuse leaped away from the body of Amon as if it had turned into a vicious snake.

Everyone watched him strangely and Vacuse in turn looked to the Void Dragon on his neck. ’..what are you up to now...!!’

An explosion tore through where Amon’s body was, turning the corpse into a blood mist and the ground into a smoking crater, cracks running on the ground.

Dust and debris bellowed upward and the room could only look on with shocked faces.

’..ok, Rith...what’s this?..’ Vacuse asked in his mind.

’..what do you think, you brat,’ Rith’s voice was filled with arrogance. ’..you think you are best at energy control? That’s the result of your puny control!..’

Vacuse took a deep breath. He had indeed underestimated his own powers. He cleared his throat as he looked at the room with a chilly expression. "A delayed spell."

"Now that I’ve taken care of that one. What should I do with you guys?" Severin flicked his hand, throwing droplets of blood to the ground.

He looked at his new personal guards and grinned. His gaze was sharp and direct as he focused on them. They shifted under the full weight of his gaze.

"Let’s see, how many of you are remaining? Fifty-seven new Soulbearers, all mine. The new generation of the Vorrakyn family," Vacuse said.

But inwardly, he was criticizing the downfall of the Vorrakyn family. Fifty-seven new Soulbearers are not up to what a standard number of new Soulbearers should be.

He would have to outsource new talent from outside the family if he indeed wanted to carry out his plan of expanding the family. And the burden of it would rest on the Soulbearers he was looking at.

As well as new talent he would be forced to look for outside, especially more of S ranked that he would have to find. Realistically, it’s not reasonable for a family to have only one SSS ranked.

Severin had thought about it and he knew what he would do. His new army would rest on new ideas and new blood. "I think I know what I will call you now. I will call you the New Dawn. From now on, the new Soulbearers of this generation will be known as New Dawn."

His voice echoed in the room. There was no rousing speech. He just named them and that was it.

Kagerou broke the silence by clapping and grinning. "Well done, boss! We are now the New Dawn! What do you think about making me the boss now? Make me the captain of the New Dawn!"

Vacuse frowned. "Are you satisfied in serving me now, Kagerou Vorrakyn?"

Kagerou shrugged. "You are far more powerful than me. That means that serving you will get me a lot of benefits. It’ll make my life more interesting."

Vacuse nodded, then abruptly his voice changed, turning dark and cold. "Do you remember the conversation we had yesterday night, Kagerou? We spoke a lot but I told you specifically about what you have to do tonight."

Kagerou blinked, then he blinked harder when he remembered. "Now?"

Vacuse nodded. "Now."

Kagerou touched his daggers and he looked around casually as if he was surveying something. A small smile played on his lips. But then his gaze suddenly sharpened and he leaped backward as nimble as a cat.

He was so fast he appeared in front of his first victim while the man was still looking in confusion.

With an almost elegant slash, but at a speed far faster than most people could track, he slashed the man’s throat while his hand rose and fell, a dagger shooting forward like an arrow.

It pierced the head of his next victim, a woman that couldn’t dodge fast enough.

Before even more people registered what was happening, Kagerou was already on the move again. His daggers swung or shot and blood sprayed in the air.

All it took was seconds and six people lay on the ground.

It was when Kagerou was done and back at his place that people began to react, moving away from the bodies and the one that made the bodies.

The smell of blood now filled the hall and everyone looked at Vacuse in a mixture of fear, shock, and anger. Then they looked at Kagerou and quickly looked away from the smiling man that killed six people in eleven breaths.

’...look at that kid, he’s tapping into his power without even realizing it. Now that is a proper way of using energy..’ Rith praised.

Vacuse sighed and ignored the Dragon.

Instead, he turned to the throne where Drenvar was looking at him with cold eyes. "What is the meaning of this, Vacuse?"

Vacuse clasped his hands and bowed. "Your Grace. They are my enemies. They worked and followed Amon. I am only cleaning my house. Have I done anything wrong?"

Drenvar looked at him for a long time, then he smiled. "No. The... New Dawn are yours to do with as you will. Make them part of your strength. Their strength will be your strength and their weaknesses, your weaknesses."

Vacuse clasped his hands and bowed. "Thank you, Dragon Lord."

Drenvar nodded and then he clapped. "Get the bodies out of my hall. Give them a burial worthy of a traitor.

"This meeting is now over! We will hold the celebration dinner later. I will communicate it with you all later. There will be a great celebration. We must properly welcome our new heir."

Everyone turned towards the throne and bowed.

And then they walked out of the hall.

Drenvar watched them leave until the hall returned to silence. Then he turned to Duke Frexon and smiled. It was a smile that he had never smiled before. "Duke Frexon. What do you think of the new heir of the Vorrakyn?"

Duke Frexon smiled gently. "Marvelous, simply marvelous."

Drenvar smiled in return. "What do you say, Duke? Do you wish to return to our negotiation again? You said it needed some adjustments, right?"

First, thank you all for giving my book a chance, I really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Please if you want to, or thinking about dropping my book—can you instead tell me why? So I can better improve and better myself. It’s sad when readers just go and I won’t even know why, because there must be a reason to read that far right.
