His hand was raised and above it, a dark needle-like energy, as long as a spear, rotated slowly.
Vacuse narrowed his eyes on the lance. "When I attacked Zorathian, I realized that my will and determination are fueled by my aggression."
Rith huffed. ’..so you grow stronger the more you fight. You use fighting as a motivation? That’s a mindset of someone in survival mode...’
Vacuse didn’t say anything as he studied the lance in his hand. He could feel the void by not feeling it. A strange thing. The Void has no energy, but he could still feel its absence.
It didn’t make much sense to Vacuse, but Rith said it would make more sense the higher up he gets.
’..to teach you further, I must teach you some basic fundamentals about the Void technique. Tell me the Soulbearer Advancement Stages..’
Vacuse nodded and with a flicker of his hand, he created another Flicker Lance and another, keeping the three rotating above his head.
It made his eyes ache, watering, with his head pounding with a low heat. Creating three had already expended his mental energy. Although he still had a lot of power left, it left his brain worn.
If his energy was like the waters of the sea, his mental energy was like hands to stir and gather the water of the sea, but right now, the hands were made from straw.
Vacuse grimaced. He thought he had built enough mental capacity due to his past and current experience. Maybe the Void energy was simply not that easy to use.
"Initiate Boundling is the first Advancement Stage. Syncer Soullinked is the second. Awakened Harmonic is the third. Deepbonded Resonant is the fourth. Sovereign Ascended is the fifth. Primeborn Eclipse is the sixth. And Eternal is the last. The seventh.
"Each rank is divided into low, middle, and high. Soulbearers’ powers are differentiated by the ranks of their beasts, as well as the uniqueness of their beasts."
That means Vacuse should absolutely dominate all the others of the same Advancement Stage as him.
Rith huffed. ’...so...only till the seventh rank for your world...pathetic...well then, I won’t call it any fancy name you people call it.
’..listen brat, one of the uniquenesses of the Void is that it can erase things from existence. Both physical and mental. From Rank one to two, you can only achieve temporary banishment. You can erase things for a while..’

Vacuse listened carefully and he grew more excited the more the Void Dragon spoke. He knew that the Void Dragon was powerful, but he didn’t know it was that much power. "Then, can you teach me one of the techniques that relates to deleting things?"
Rith frowned. ’..when you can make ten Flicker Lance easily without falling over...’
His head screamed at him, but he settled down to create more Flicker Lance around him.
But at the end, he was only able to create one more before his eyes almost exploded from concentration.
And then he began again. This time, he was able to create four and a half and hold it for ten minutes.
And that was what he did for the remainder of the day and the next morning till evening.
But earlier in the morning, they heard the news that Isolde Vetra, Drenvar’s official wife, passed away peacefully in her sleep.
When Vacuse heard the news, his face became solemn. Isolde Vetra was a spy planted by the ordinary humans that formed a revolution.
And what better way for them to send their message across to the Empire than bringing about the destruction of one of the founding families? An already weak one?
Almost everyone had something to pick with the Vorrakyn and the time was ripe enough for it.
And although Vacuse was already changing things with his mere presence.
But still, Isolde Vetra must go. She was a spy and a dormant explosion that he took care of.

Contrary to many people’s opinion, the dinner ceremony still held that night.
Drenvar didn’t change his mind because of his wife’s death.
It was held in the hall that was decorated with colorful cloth and lights. The place was already filled with important people that were slowly drinking while listening to the music that drifted through the room.
But their eyes were turned towards the door.
A group of people walked in. Guards, but they weren’t the usual ones. They were young and wore red with the imprint of the sun on them with a Dragon coiled around the sun.
Although they didn’t have the impressive, oppressive aura of the old Guard, they still managed to draw attention to themselves as they marched inside, their eyes already searching for targets as they scanned the hall.
The one that led them was a man of stout build, thick limbs. On his back were strapped eight swords.
And in the middle of them all was him. The Dragon heir and the commander of the New Dawn.
He was dressed in a red cloak with the rising sun and the Dragon coiled around it. He wore gold chains with jewels, and an earring from his left ear was made entirely of red gem.
A small smile played around his lips and his red eyes glinted.

The noise in the room immediately died. Even the music cut off and the people turned towards him. They lowered their heads and bowed low.
