The Strongest Assassin of the Zoldyck Family! Chapter 522

Wing's expression did not change much, but inside, he was already extremely shocked.

Previously, Wing had certain expectations about Killua and Gon's talents. Being able to pass the Hunter Exam at their age, they were obviously not ordinary people but geniuses among geniuses. After contacting Gon and Killua, Wing became even more convinced of this point.

However, Wing had not expected that their talent would be this terrifying.

They had only just opened their aura nodes and already immediately grasped the technique of Ten.

How terrifying was this?

Wing couldn't help but recall his own past. He had always recognized his own talent, feeling that he was a genius. But back when he opened his own aura nodes, the time he needed to master Ten was far, far longer than what Gon and Killua had achieved — they weren't even on the same level of comparison.

For a moment, Wing realized his mindset was becoming unbalanced.

Complicated emotions welled up inside him. The reason he hadn't taught Gon and Killua Nen before was simple — he thought the time wasn't right.

Wing believed Gon and Killua were still too young, their foundations still too shallow.

They needed more polishing before they would be ready to learn Nen.

And truthfully, even now, Wing hadn't fully decided when that time would come.

So when he heard Zushi say that Gon was about to apply for a match at the 200th floor, Wing had felt genuinely angry, partly at Gon's reckless behavior, and partly because he felt Gon was forcing his hand into teaching them Nen too early. It wasn't that he didn't intend to teach them, just that the timing wasn't supposed to be now.

Wing could clearly sense it — both Gon and Killua were eager, desperate even, to learn Nen as soon as possible.

Hearing Gon's voice snapped Wing back to reality.

"The registration time is almost up," Gon said. "Killua and I need to go register at Heaven's Arena. Otherwise, we'll miss the deadline."

Soon, Gon and Killua arrived back at Heaven's Arena. Hisoka was still guarding the entrance to the hallway.

Hearing footsteps, Hisoka lifted his head and caught sight of Gon and Killua. His eyebrows rose slightly. "They've already grasped it? Not bad," Hisoka mused. "As expected of someone worth my anticipation. I hope they'll bring me plenty of surprises in the future."

Gon and Killua passed by Hisoka. This time, Hisoka didn't block their way.

Only after they had gone to the registration desk did Hisoka rise to his feet, watching Gon's back, his tongue licking his lips lightly.

Some rookie hunters lurking in the shadows soon noticed Gon and Killua's arrival. However, they weren't targeting just Gon and Killua specifically — they paid attention to all new challengers arriving at the 200th floor.

Just like they had previously targeted Ron, Nina, and Sados.

Everyone new was a target for the so-called "rookie killers."

"Gon, are you sure you want to apply now?"

"Yeah, I'm sure. What about you, Killua?"

"I think I'll wait a bit longer." Killua's personality was ultimately different from Gon's. Even without Illumi's needle, Killua's style was more cautious and measured compared to Gon's impulsiveness.

Gon nodded and stepped up to the desk, picked up an application form, filled it out with his name and information, and submitted it.

Meanwhile, Killua, sensing several gazes directed at them, instinctively turned his head. At the hallway corner, several figures stood watching them, making no attempt to hide even when Killua noticed them.

They stared directly at Killua, matching gazes without flinching.

Killua's expression darkened slightly.

"Those guys..." He remembered what Sados had warned him about regarding rookie killers. Killua naturally understood who these people were and what their goals were.

"Killua, I'm done filling it out. Let's go."

The two left the Heaven's Arena lobby but not before receiving two keycards at the front desk. As contestants who had reached the 200th floor, they were now assigned luxury suites.

Gon and Killua were no exception.

"Teacher Wing, we're back."

Wing looked over at them, his gaze settling mainly on Gon.

"Gon, you already submitted your application?"

"When's the match scheduled?"

"Not sure yet. I didn't specify a time — I just chose as soon as possible. If it were up to me, I'd want to fight tomorrow. I want to fully experience this new power."

Gon looked down at his own fist, clenching it lightly.

Wing was silent for a moment.

He had always considered himself stubborn. But after interacting with Gon, Wing realized Gon was far more stubborn and much more willful.

Once Gon decided on something, no amount of persuasion would change his mind.

Just as Gon finished speaking, a notification came through on his phone.

He opened it and read the message.

"I've already been matched. The match is scheduled for tomorrow morning. My opponent is someone called Gido."

Wing sighed inwardly.

"Gon, you've only just started learning Nen, only just taken your first steps. Compared to experienced Nen users, you're still miles behind.

So tomorrow's match, you have to be cautious. Don't force yourself."

"You told me that your goal is to experience the world of Nen users, and that's the only reason I agreed to teach you ahead of time. In tomorrow's match, your main goal is to observe. If things start going badly, you must immediately surrender. You don't know what kind of person your opponent might be. If they harbor malicious intent, persisting recklessly might leave you with permanent consequences you'll regret for the rest of your life."

"You must promise me this — only then will I continue teaching you Nen!"

"You still have a long future ahead. There's no need to rush at this point."

Wing's expression was extremely serious.

"I understand, Teacher Wing."

"Good. Then come with me. I'll continue your training."

Wing said, "You've already learned Ten, which is the foundation.

The true basics of Nen are the Four Major Techniques — Gyo, In, En, and Shu. But before those, there are the Four Minor Techniques — Ten, Ren, Zetsu, and Hatsu."

Originally, Wing hadn't planned on telling them the real Four Major Principles so soon. He had intended to first teach them the Four Minor Techniques to slow their progress, solidify their basics.

But considering Killua's connection to Ron and Sados's warning, Wing decided to present the Four Minor Techniques separately.

This would make the transition seem more reasonable.
