Daoist Qingfengzi had been helping Ye Feng since earlier, speaking on Ye Feng’s behalf. Ye Feng certainly couldn’t believe that just because he had an aptitude for the Five Elements, Qingfengzi would help him. After all, Zhou Shaochen’s older brother was the Chief Disciple of Wendao Sect, poised to inherit the sect and become the future Sect Leader. Although his cultivation wasn’t as advanced as Qingfengzi’s, his status was no less than Qingfengzi’s.
One must know that the achievement of a Martial Artist isn’t solely determined by one’s perceptiveness; it takes a combination of physique, perceptiveness, and diligence to foresee a greater future achievement.
Some have excellent perceptiveness but are suited to practice Martial Arts and become Martial Artists. Others may have an excellent physique, but lack the perceptiveness to ever grasp Conception, and thus remain incapable of reaching the Legendary realm of the Martial King.
Then there are those who have both superb perceptiveness and physique but due to laziness, they miss the prime time for cultivation, which consequently limits their future achievements. So at the moment, Ye Feng is actually an uncertain factor.
If Qingfengzi is helping Ye Feng merely due to his high perceptiveness, to the point of offending the younger brother of a Chief Disciple, Ye Feng wouldn’t believe it because it simply doesn’t make sense.
"Daoist Qingfengzi...Elder...good..." At this moment, people in the dining hall caught sight of Qingfengzi and greeted him one by one with respect and reverence.
"It’s Daoist Qingfengzi who has arrived!" Du Yuan and Wang Wei expressed excitement in their eyes.
Qingfengzi walked straight towards Ye Feng, and an excited Wang Wei said, "Ye Feng, look, Daoist Qingfengzi is coming towards us. He spoke for us just now; he must have taken a liking to your high perceptiveness. Perhaps he wants to take you as his disciple; this could be a tremendous opportunity!"
However, Ye Feng’s face remained impassive, as still as an ancient well, without a ripple of emotion.
It wasn’t long before Qingfengzi approached Ye Feng and asked, "Ye Feng, do you find the food here to your taste?"
Ye Feng nodded indifferently: "It’s alright, the taste is quite good."
Qingfengzi smiled gently, his face full of benevolence, as if he were looking at a descendant of his own, filled with elder’s affection.
Seeing Qingfengzi’s demeanor, Wang Wei and Du Yuan became even more convinced that Qingfengzi wanted to take Ye Feng as his disciple; otherwise, why would he be so kind to Ye Feng?
Qingfengzi said, "That’s good. If you join our Wendao Sect in the future, then you can adapt to life here, at least you are accustomed to the food here."
"Hmm!" Ye Feng nodded without denying it, even though it was impossible for Ye Feng to join Wendao Sect and become its disciple.
But Ye Feng still needed to enter the Inner Mountain of Wendao Sect, so he couldn’t possibly deny it now.
Seeing Ye Feng’s calm demeanor, Qingfengzi wasn’t annoyed. Instead, he smiled and looked at Ye Feng: "Ye Feng, would you mind having a private chat with me?"
After hearing Qingfengzi’s words, Ye Feng nodded: "Alright!"
Then, Qingfengzi looked towards Du Yuan and Wang Wei. They, understanding the situation, tactfully walked away, leaving Qingfengzi and Ye Feng alone.
After Du Yuan and Wang Wei left, Qingfengzi smiled slightly and spoke to Ye Feng: "Ye Feng, if I’m not mistaken, you are also practicing Martial Arts, right?"
Ye Feng nodded: "Correct." Ye Feng didn’t deny it, but sneered inwardly. He became even more certain that Qingfengzi harbored ulterior motives. Qingfengzi smiled and said, "Ye Feng, may I know what Cultivation Method you are practicing? Seeing your high perceptiveness, yet you haven’t even achieved External Force cultivation—could there be a problem with your practice?"
Ye Feng shook his head: "There’s no issue; my cultivation is going smoothly. Rest assured, Daoist."
"No, no, no! With such high perceptiveness, at your age, it would be normal to reach the Inner Strength realm. However, I cannot feel any Inner Strength in you, not even External Force. It seems very likely there’s a problem with your practice. Why don’t you show me your Cultivation Method? I should be able to help you. This way, you can progress by leaps and bounds!" Daoist Qingfengzi said patiently.
Ye Feng sneered internally; it seemed Qingfengzi’s purpose lay indeed in Ye Feng’s Cultivation Method.
The more advanced the Cultivation Method, the easier it is to grasp the principles of Dao. Qingfengzi’s earlier lectures on Dao were largely based on a Martial Artist’s cultivation, and Ye Feng had easily understood the content Daoist Qingfengzi spoke of.
This made Qingfengzi believe Ye Feng’s Cultivation Method was highly advanced. After all, the core tenets remain unchanged despite myriad transformations. Having comprehended deeper aspects of Martial Arts, Ye Feng naturally understood the Dao that Qingfengzi explained.
Thus, Qingfengzi was mistaken, yet not entirely wrong about Ye Feng’s Cultivation Method being alarmingly advanced.
Ye Feng shook his head: "Daoist, you are mistaken. My practice is progressing well and there’s no such issue as you mention. There’s no need to worry."
After hearing Ye Feng’s response, Qingfengzi frowned and a trace of anger flashed across his face, then he said: "Ye Feng, do you realize that I have your best interests at heart? If you practice haphazardly without guidance, you can easily fall into madness. Do you understand the consequences of madness? Your cultivation might regress, and it could affect your physical functions, rapidly depleting your vitality, and in severe cases, you could become a mindless lunatic, a machine driven by slaughter. Do you understand now? I’m offering to look at your method because I care; I see you are an exceptional talent and don’t want to see you fall into madness!"
Though Qingfengzi appeared to want to see Ye Feng’s Cultivation Method for noble reasons, his claim felt pretentiously grand, inciting disgust in Ye Feng who nevertheless maintained his composure.
Ye Feng replied calmly: "Daoist, you really don’t need to worry. There’s no sign of any problems with my cultivation. As for madness, I am quite aware, and I show no signs of it."
"Fine! Fine! Fine!" Qingfengzi, infuriated, repeated the word ’fine’ thrice, his eyes glaring with anger: "If you won’t accept help, then I won’t insist. But if you encounter problems with your cultivation later, don’t come to regret it!"
