The next morning, Su Yanyi was the first to wake up, and not surprisingly, she found herself lying on top of Qin Jiran again. She twitched the corner of her mouth, then got up from bed calmly.
The human-shaped pillow obviously worked wonders. Despite the many concerns she had before sleeping, she slept extremely well. Su Yanyi was in a great mood, quickly finished washing up, and returned to the bedside.
Qin Jiran probably drank a bit too much the previous night; he, who usually woke up early, still showed no signs of getting up. This allowed Su Yanyi a rare opportunity to observe his sleeping face, his profound features seeming slightly softer, with a warm aura.
Su Yanyi watched him for quite a while before feeling a bit foolish. It was really improper to be so enchanted by watching a man sleep.
Stretching out her finger, she poked the sleeping man, not admitting to herself that she was being a bit naughty—she was just trying to wake him up so he wouldn’t be late!
"Wake up!" Su Yanyi poked hard with her index finger at Qin Jiran’s nose, creating little indents, which looked quite amusing.
Qin Jiran was about to wake up on his own, but being poked like that by Su Yanyi, he naturally surfaced from sleep. However, as soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Su Yanyi’s face close to his, along with her slender, jade-like fingers in front of his face.
What was this situation? Qin Jiran looked at Su Yanyi with some confusion.
Su Yanyi immediately stood up and said very calmly to Qin Jiran, "You should get up now, or you’ll be late."
After finishing her words, Su Yanyi left, leaving Qin Jiran alone in a daze, but he felt something was not quite right. Looking down, he realized he was still wearing yesterday’s clothes, and the smell of alcohol was all over him. Suddenly, he recalled how he had been drinking the day before, and his whole mood soured.
Had he drunk too much the previous night? How did he come back? Qin Jiran thought about it, but his mind was a blank—he couldn’t remember how he got back at all!
This realization changed Qin Jiran’s expression again. It was one thing to get drunk, but why did he have to do it in front of Yanyi, and to the point of blacking out? Did he do anything inappropriate last night?
Feeling the tightness of his clothing, Qin Jiran knew that the least appropriate act hadn’t occurred, which quietly relieved him, but then he felt a slight sense of regret. And then, thinking of something else, his face turned a shade redder.
Worried that Su Yanyi might come back and see him in this state, Qin Jiran rushed into the bathroom as if fleeing, got himself well-groomed, but when he came out, he still looked somewhat dejected.
Yanyi drank a lot yesterday too, so why was it him who ended up drunk? Could it be that his tolerance was even less than Yanyi’s? That was quite a blow to a man’s confidence.
After brooding over it for a while, Qin Jiran left the bedroom expressionlessly. There was a restaurant inside the villa; by the time Qin Jiran got there, Su Yanyi had already started eating. The normal glances from everyone around them were reassuring for Qin Jiran as, based on everyone’s reactions, it seemed he hadn’t made a fool of himself—or if he had, it was only in front of Yanyi...
Just as he was thinking this and had begun to relax, Qin Jiran’s spirits fell again. He would have preferred making a fool of himself in front of everyone else rather than in front of Yanyi. He had worked so hard to show his best side to her!
"Yanyi, cough, was everything okay yesterday?" Sitting down next to Yanyi, Qin Jiran tentatively asked, not too confidently.
"I’m just fine." Su Yanyi glanced at Qin Jiran and said very calmly.
