Qin Jiran was cooking while his mind wandered, but suddenly he heard Yanyi’s voice.
"What are you thinking about?" Su Yanyi’s voice suddenly popped up, startling Qin Jiran.
Qin Jiran, a bit embarrassed, told the truth: "I was thinking about planning our next date."
Su Yanyi raised an eyebrow, feeling that this man was finally getting the hang of things, actually knowing to plan for a date.
"Then let’s have a date. Where do you want to go?" When it came to dates, Su Yanyi was very cooperative. Perhaps it was her experiences from a previous life that made her realize many things; she no longer thought work was that important. Since her job often required her to watch movies or TV series, to keep up with market developments and demands, watching movies inevitably lost some of its entertainment value.
Dinner was quickly prepared amidst their conversation: steak with red wine and several exquisitely prepared side dishes. Su Yanyi was slightly surprised to see such a dinner and smiled meaningfully at Qin Jiran, who turned uncomfortable with his ears blushing.
Why did he feel like Yanyi’s gaze was not right, as if he had some ulterior motive, making him feel very guilty? It was so wrong; he was merely thinking of changing Yanyi’s diet, with absolutely no other thoughts. He could swear to the light bulb!
"Um, just changing the flavor, we can’t always eat Chinese food." Qin Jiran awkwardly explained, hoping Yanyi wouldn’t think he had any bad intentions. But looking at Yanyi’s expression, which showed she understood everything, why did he feel as if he couldn’t explain himself properly!
Su Yanyi just smiled in silence, with an air of ’you don’t need to explain, I know everything,’ making Qin Jiran even more uncomfortable. It was just a Western meal, so why did the atmosphere suddenly become so ambiguous? It was quite embarrassing!
"We can change it up often in the future; I don’t mind." Finally, before Qin Jiran’s face could turn any redder, Su Yanyi spoke calmly, but for some reason, Qin Jiran felt she was teasing him.
After a lavish dinner filled with an unusual atmosphere, the two of them tidied up and prepared to head out. This pattern of setting off for a date from home together really gave off an old-married-couple vibe.
As they reached the door to change shoes, the shiny Little Golden Turtle was lying on Qin Jiran’s shoes, looking as if it wanted to be packed up and taken along. Its little eyes were rolling around, looking clever, adorable, and pleading.
Qin Jiran, somewhat helplessly, took Little Golden Turtle off his shoes, put it to the side and started putting on his shoes. He then saw Little Golden Turtle crawling and clawing onto his trouser leg, looking at him with such hopeful little eyes that Qin Jiran couldn’t bear to move it away. He was least resistant to small creatures that could act so endearingly.
