Dinner was ready; the family sat down with Grandfather Su taking the seat of honor. He picked up his chopsticks to start, and only then did everyone else begin to eat.
The Su family was not overly traditional; they never mandated silence during meals or at bedtime. Grandfather Su, although appearing quite stern, actually had a rather hearty nature. It was just his commanding presence that made him seem somewhat distant.
Father Su sat upright, seeming very composed, but the occasional smile that crossed his face was quite amiable, especially in his interactions with Mother Su, which were often tender.
Mother Su’s smile was constant, radiating warmth and affection, yet her gestures were elegant and dignified. The occasional sharp glint in her eyes was not to be underestimated.
Big Brother Su was a very reserved man. His face showed Grandfather Su’s severity and Father Su’s steadiness. He also was a very handsome man. It had to be said, everyone in the Su family was at the top of the spectrum in terms of appearance.
However, Su Yanyi seemed the most indifferent of them all, her every move exuding a sense of detachment. Yet, perhaps because she was at home, this detachment felt almost imperceptible.
After dinner, Su Yanyi was the first to speak, "Big Brother, let’s talk."
Su Yanmo nodded without hesitation. He too had something to discuss with his sister, so the siblings headed to the study—one after the other. Even though both of them had moved out after getting married, their rooms and the study remained untouched.
"Yanyi, are you serious about Qin Jiran?" The siblings were four years apart. When Yanyi was born, Yanmo was already sensible. He had always been protective of her, sometimes even more so than their parents. As they grew older, he became even more protective of her, and the bond between the siblings had always been strong. Brother Yanmo understood his sister quite well.
Yanyi understood her brother’s meaning too. By publicly acknowledging her relationship with Qin Jiran, she had already affirmed and was serious about their connection. So she nodded without hesitation, "Yes, he’s very good."
Yanmo seemed somewhat surprised by Yanyi’s response, gave her a deep look, and then nodded, saying, "In that case, you should cherish it. This is a gift from me. If he ever bullies you, don’t hesitate."
As he spoke, Yanmo produced a very delicate handgun from somewhere and placed it in front of Yanyi.
Yanyi raised an eyebrow, took the handgun, and said nothing more. Naturally, she would not use the gun on Qin Jiran. Not to mention her trust that this man would not harm her, even if he did, based on the affection he showed her in her previous life, she would not hurt him.
Yanyi would always remember the vow she made lying unable to move on her deathbed in her past life; she was determined to do everything in her power to protect this man’s peace for a lifetime, let alone harm him.
"What is it you wanted to talk to me about?" After expressing his concern, Yanmo remembered Yanyi’s words and was curious about what his little sister wanted to discuss.
Just as Yanmo was straightforward with Yanyi, she didn’t hesitate and directly asked, "Wang Zhirou is not a good woman, and the Wang family has designs on the Su family."
"Designs? What do they want to do?" Yanmo chose to accept Yanyi’s initial statement and then scoffed slightly as he questioned the latter.
"No matter what they want to do, I won’t let them succeed!" Su Yanyi’s tone was unabashedly murderous.
Su Yanmo frowned, not because he thought much of the Wang Family, but because he was puzzled by his sister’s attitude.
"What did they do? Did they anger you?" Su Yanmo’s tone also became sharp, if the Wang Family really did something to upset his sister, they shouldn’t blame him for not being polite. As a good brother, he definitely had to be overprotective.
As the matter hadn’t yet occurred, Su Yanyi couldn’t speak of it, but that didn’t mean she would let the Wang Family off the hook.
"Brother, as for Wang Zhirou, what should be done?" Officially, Wang Zhirou was still a member of the Su family, his wife, even though Su Yanyi had already decided to deal with the Wang Family, she still wanted to hear her brother’s opinion.

Su Yanmo was actually a very loyal person and wouldn’t want to hold back a young lady due to his own reasons, just like how Su Yanyi and Qin Jiran had their marriage contract at the beginning; it was all discussed and agreed upon by both sides.
Only, he hadn’t expected the Wang Family to harbor such thoughts they shouldn’t have. It appeared he had been too lenient towards the Wang Family.
Su Yanmo wouldn’t doubt Su Yanyi’s words, the Su Family members didn’t need words to protect their own, let alone if they truly angered Su Yanyi. Even if the Wang Family hadn’t done anything wrong, as long as Su Yanyi was unhappy, he, as a brother, would definitely not let the Wang Family off easily, and all the more now that the Wang Family was plotting against the entire Su Family!
"Let’s do it together, Big Brother, it’s been a long time since we’ve done something together, let’s treat it as a game and see who can play it more spectacularly." Su Yanyi’s eyes showed a clear eagerness, but the chill in her tone was not to be ignored.
