Robert Goodman had never suffered at the hands of anyone his entire life. It wasn’t because he was untouchable in YODC City, but because he knew the people he couldn’t afford to offend. He wouldn’t get into conflicts with them. Yet this bastard John Brown, just a lowly security manager, had the audacity to marry the Grace Lopez he fancied. The most infuriating part was that he once lost face in front of John Brown, something he absolutely couldn’t tolerate.
Today, Robert was quite elated all day. With Brother Bob handling it, taking care of John Brown was a guaranteed thing. Brother Bob also said he would capture Grace Lopez and Emily Lopez. They were twins. Thinking about playing with the twins in front of John Brown made him feel indescribably elated and expectant.
Around nine at night, Brother Bob called. Robert immediately answered, asking anxiously, "Brother Bob, how did it go?"
Brother Bob apologized on the other end, "Mr. Smith, sorry, there’s a bit of a hitch."
Robert frowned instantly, "What happened?"
"Grace Lopez had to attend a meeting today, so she didn’t leave with John Brown. We only caught John Brown and Emily Lopez."
"No problem, no problem. Where are they now? I need to get there immediately." Robert wasn’t too bothered, even if one person was missing. Catching John Brown and dealing with him was enough to vent his anger. There would be plenty of opportunities to deal with Grace Lopez in the future.
"Come to the XC Pier. We’re in warehouse number twelve."
Robert hung up the phone and immediately drove to G City Wharf. He hadn’t informed anyone, intending to kill John Brown. Letting others know wouldn’t be ideal, so he went alone. He didn’t see any danger in it; with Brother Bob’s gang there, who could do anything to him?
He covered the fifty kilometers in less than twenty minutes, attesting to his eagerness. As soon as he stopped the car, he jumped out and asked Brother Bob, who was smoking at the door, "Where are they?"
Brother Bob chuckled, "Inside, all tied up."
"Great!" Robert swung his fist excitedly and rushed inside the warehouse. After a couple of steps, he stopped and turned to Brother Bob, saying, "Brother Bob, you stand guard here. I might need you for something soon."
Brother Bob nodded, "Got it, leave the inside to you."
Robert assured Brother Bob, "Don’t worry, I won’t shortchange you."
As Robert entered, the warehouse door closed behind him. Brother Bob wasn’t concerned with what would happen inside. The welcoming gift had already been delivered to John Brown.
Inside, Robert squinted. It was darker outside, and while the warehouse wasn’t very bright, there were lights on. Thanks to the dim lighting, he quickly spotted two people tied to chairs. One was indeed John Brown, and the other was Emily Lopez. Emily looked exactly like her sister. Now that he had Emily, playing with her would be just like playing with Grace.
Calming his excited mood, Robert approached John Brown. Seeing that John was firmly tied to a chair, Robert felt assured. He squinted his eyes, smiling slyly, and said, "John Brown, never thought you’d fall into my hands, did you?"
John Brown struggled, making the chair shake and its legs scrape against the floor, producing a grating noise. Startled, Robert immediately took a step back. If John broke free, he wouldn’t stand a chance.
But when John struggled a few more times and remained bound and immobile, Robert finally relaxed. He laughed, "If you’ve got the guts, get up and hit me, huh?"
John Brown glared and gritted his teeth, "Robert Goodman, you bastard, what do you want?"
"Haha... I told you before, if you mess with me, I won’t let you go. On the cruise last time, I couldn’t do anything to you. But now that we’re back in YODC City, you think I’ll let you off?"
"Hmph, what can you do to me?" John Brown glared fiercely at Robert.
Robert lit a cigarette with a snap, pulled a chair opposite John, and said leisurely, "There’s nothing I wouldn’t dare to do, especially when it comes to women I’ve set my sights on. Do you know Grace was always intended to be my woman? And you, a mere security guard, dared to get in the way? Who the hell do you think you are? You think you can compete with me over a woman?"
Growing increasingly angry, Robert threw the cigarette to the ground and stamped on it. Glaring at John, he said venomously, "Now that you’re in my hands, what do you think I’ll do to you?"
John showed a hint of panic, "What do you want?"
Robert relished seeing others cower before him. He laughed menacingly, "I’m going to have some fun with your sister-in-law in front of you, and then break every bone in your body before dumping you into the sea to feed the fish. And after you’re dead, I’ll go play with your wife, ha-ha..."
John gritted his teeth, "You dare? That’s against the law."
"The law?" Robert laughed wildly, as if he’d heard the funniest joke in the world. He said after a while, "You’re so naive. In my eyes, the law is shit. Killing you is like squashing an ant. Who could stop me? I have plenty of money. There’s nothing money can’t smooth over. Besides, who would even know if I killed you?"
"So you really intend to kill me?" John’s eyes flashed with a cold light. He and Emily were deliberately tied up there to see Robert’s true intentions, and then decide how to handle him. If Robert was indeed this reckless, John couldn’t leave such a threat alive.
Robert laughed, "You’re right, let’s start with the appetizer. I’ll play with your sister-in-law first. Ha, I bet you never had the chance yourself. Let me do the honors and show you how it feels. I think you’ll really enjoy it, won’t you?"
Emily recognized Robert and couldn’t believe he was this deranged. She couldn’t help but burst out, "Robert Goodman, you scum! If you dare touch me, you’re dead."
"Oh really? Then let’s see how you make that happen." Robert laughed again, but the laughter abruptly died, and his eyes filled with terror as he stared blankly at John Brown.
