The landscape outside the Maybach’s windows was rapidly going by.
Xia Yishan sat next to Su Jingting obediently. She would glance at him now and then.
He seemed to be working on his laptop, looking awfully serious.
‘Ahh, he lives up to the name of the best actor. He’s flawless from every angle, and he looks so serious even when he’s on his laptop. He’s so handsome! So handsome that there are no words to describe him!’
Xia Yishan kept trying to steal glances at him…
Su Jingting happened to turn his head over as she did so.
Their passionate eyes locked, and the heat inside the car began to rise.
There was a slam as he turned off his laptop.
“Are you done staring?” Su Jingting raised his eyebrows.
Xia Yishan held her chest. Cupid’s arrow had struck her.
“Not yet…I-I mean I’m done staring…” With a quick jolt, Xia Yishan maneuvered away from the awkward subject. “I’d like to know why Best Actor Su was looking for me…”
Xia Yishan was asking the obvious. She did not think Best Actor Su invited her for small talk.
“I’d love to have a chat with you.”
She was speechless. She must have heard him wrong.
“Ms. Xia, did you see the blunder that blew up on Weibo?”
“I-I did. I had nothing to do with that. I was in the picture, but I don’t have the pictures that were taken at that time. I don’t mean to ride on your fame!” Xia Yishan was about to raise her hand to swear.
“Hmm.”
She was speechless again.
‘What do you want from me? Can you just end this awkwardness once and for all?’
“What do you think of me, Ms. Xia?”
“You…You’re perfect. The best actor with a combination of charm, poise, manners, talent, and skills that makes tens of thousands of young ladies fall head over heels for you…”
Su Jingting fell silent. She exaggerated a little too much.
“Don’t be shy, Best Actor Su. You’re flawless to us, the loyal fans.”
“What do you think of me personally?”
“Me? I’m your loyal fan too.”
She indirectly admitted that she liked him.
‘Great!’
“Since Ms. Xia thinks that I’m perfect and I happen to lack a girlfriend, would you consider that?”
Xia Yishan slipped from the leather seat.
“Is something wrong with my ears? Am I hallucinating?”
Su Jingting helped her back to her seat. He opened a bottle of mineral water for her and brought it to her lips. “Are you really not considering it?”
‘Oh my god, he’s so manly…He’s gentle and sweet, and his voice is electric. Ahhhh, how am I supposed to reject him?’
“Are you really Su Jingting?” Xia Yishan was eager to pinch his face to prove that he was real.
“As real as I can be.”
Could it be…the successful Best Actor Su was being forced to get married by his family since he was not young anymore? Xia Yishan soon imagined the scene where Su Jingting was surrounded by his family, forcing him to get married. She looked at him with utter sympathy.
“From what I understand, Master Best Actor, you’re in need of a girlfriend?”
“Yes.” That sounded about right.
“But I-I’m only 18…”
Su Jingting was between tears and laughter. He indeed overlooked that. “Age isn’t a problem.”
“I’m just a student from the academy. I have many bad habits. I’m a hooligan in a gang, and I go around beating up people…”
“Doesn’t bother me.”
“My goal is to go into the entertainment industry in the future. We’ll have to hide our relationship even if I become your girlfriend. That won’t help you, will it? No matter what, you’d be renting me as your girlfriend. You could rent other girls, so why don’t you look for someone else?!”
She was using the term ‘renting’ so casually…
Su Jingting tapped his slender finger on his laptop, “It was you who were exposed on the internet.”
Xia Yishan was speechless.
“You’re the most suitable candidate.”
Xia Yishan remained speechless.
‘No, I’m not.’
“I choose you!”
Xia Yishan said nothing.
“We’re here. Time to get down.”
