He said with a chuckle, "Feel free to record and post, just remember to tag my account name. Let’s give it one more push, and tonight we’ll have an extra meal, wild boar meat."
As he spoke, he swung his arms and reeled in a long length of the fishing line.
Poor thing, the big fellow desperately thrashed about but didn’t get very far, as it was roughly yanked back.
Lin Yang’s main objective was to completely exhaust its strength, so he didn’t cut it any slack. The drag was set very tight, and the wild boar had to struggle immensely just to pull out some line.
He wasn’t in a hurry, initially standing to the side and giving his all. After confirming there were no dangers, he simply clamped the rod’s handle under his armpit.
Many deep-sea jigging anglers like this pose; the advantage is that it saves energy. Using it to play the pig also feels good, at least much more comfortable than resting it on the belly.
For the next while, Lin Yang pulled the wild boar towards him, then let it go, repeating the process countless times. Whenever he felt tired, he would hand the rod to Uncle Victor to rest for a while.
Before they knew it, the sun began to set, and it got darker. The wild boar in the water, after more than two hours of torment, also completely ran out of energy. Its struggles grew weaker and weaker until, in the end, it simply floated motionless on the surface.
Seeing that the goal was nearly reached, Lin Yang, having rested, stood up from his seat, "It’s about time."
"What do you plan to do? Bleed it with a knife?" Victor asked, pulling out his outdoor knife.
Lin Yang shook his head, "That’s not safe. As you know, safety comes first."
"Then?" Victor was a bit confused, unable to keep up with the young man before him.
Lin Yang pointed to the landing net beside him, "With this."
"Landing net? That pig must weigh at least two hundred pounds; it’s impossible to lift it out!" Victor shook his head.
Lin Yang grinned, "Of course not to lift it out. Have you seen how restaurants slaughter pigeons?"
In the midst of discussing how to kill the pig, the conversation suddenly leaped to pigeon slaughter, but Victor caught on instantly.
"You want to drown it?"
"Right, it’s just floating on the water by buoyancy now. We can use the landing net to press it down, and in a short while, it will suffocate and drown."
"That’s a good method!" Victor immediately agreed.
"Guys, wild boars are too dangerous. We’re not going to engage in close combat with it; we’ll just press it under the water and drown it. Now that it’s pretty much out of energy, it should be easy."
While talking, Lin Yang continuously reeled in the line, pulling the wild boar close to the boat, about a meter away.
From a close distance, the boar looked even more ferocious, with its thick tusks easily over ten centimeters long. If anyone were to be gored by it, they would be left with a bloodied hole for sure.
The long ordeal of back and forth had drained the great wild boar of all its strength, and now it only had enough energy to heave deep breaths. So close to the boat, it didn’t exhibit any violent struggle, leaving only its black, glossy eyes flashing with a hint of ferocity.
Soon, Uncle Victor began the planned operation with the landing net.
He placed the net over the boar’s head and, with effort, pressed it downward.
The wild boar, already depleted, put up a symbolic struggle before losing its balance and being pushed under the water, a series of bubbles rising up. In less than a minute, the wild boar was motionless.
When Uncle Victor lifted the landing net, that dangerous creature was utterly silent, belly-up, floating to the surface.
