Lin Yang didn’t continue such a heavy topic. After displaying his catch, he casually tossed the fish into the live fish box behind him and continued to bait his hook with fish meat before casting his line out again.
This time, he was lucky as there were no interruptions mid-cast, and the lead sinker brought the rig down to a depth of about thirty meters before the line stopped extending.
Lin Yang simply tightened the line taut and, imitating Uncle Victor, teased it up and down a bit. Soon, he felt a clear bite through the tip of the rod, and the rod began rhythmically bobbing up and down again.
He still couldn’t resist lifting the rod, and quickly pulled the rig back up.
The resistance this time was noticeably greater than before. When the fish was pulled out of the water, lo and behold, there were two fish hooked after just a few seconds of pause.
Both were yellow croakers. The smaller one was roughly two and a half pounds, while the big fellow on the bottom hook was a size larger, estimated to be about four or five pounds—at no wonder the strength required to reel it in was considerably higher.
"This one can be kept, probably around five pounds. You’re quite lucky!" said Uncle Victor after a glance before continuing to fish.
"Holy moly! A yellow croaker this big, you might not encounter one in a whole year of fishing back home!"
"Jealousy and hatred, that’s what this is. Now this is what you call resources; such a fish density is just too exaggerated!"
In the live broadcast room, the majority of the viewers were there for the excitement, with many of their own sea anglers among them.
Seeing Lin Yang casually fishing up yellow croakers of such quality and size made them drool with envy.
Lin Yang carefully removed the hooks and tossed both fish into the live fish bucket.
When he picked up the big yellow croaker, he still felt a bit excited. Uncle Victor had said it would be satisfying before he came, but he hadn’t expected it to be this satisfying. A five-pound yellow croaker, so easily caught, made him feel almost unreal holding the fish in his hand.

Perhaps because he kept using fresh fish meat for bait, which gave off a bloody scent, after a few more rounds of bottom fishing, the frequency of the fish attacking the bait and swallowing it increased a notch.
Just like before, after the rig touched bottom and was teased a little, he would lift the rod and reel in as soon as there was a bite. But after fishing for a while, the number of fish on the hookline went from one or two to a steady two or three. Taking a little longer to reel in resulted in pulling up a string of fish.
Lin Yang, gradually feeling numb, wanted to see if he could catch five fish in one cast. After feeling a bite, he deliberately reeled in half a beat slower, and, indeed, he managed to do so.
One string of hooks, five hooks, and he brought up five valuable yellow croakers—fishing like this was far too enjoyable!
In the past, the old-school lure anglers would say that resources are the king, and density determines everything. Lin Yang had some reservations about this view at the time, thinking that technique was also indispensable and very important. However, a sea fishing trip in Sahalin completely changed his perspective.
With this kind of fish situation, what do you need technique for?
To put it bluntly, just attach some chopped meat on the hook, throw the rig into the water, and even tying the rod to a dog would result in successive catches.
The countless yellow croakers biting the bait, along with the occasional blackhead fish, made Lin Yang completely give up the idea of taking every fish back to camp. After half an hour of consecutive catches, he started being selective like Uncle Victor.
He didn’t want those that were too small, too poorly colored, too ugly, in a bad mood, or hooked incorrectly!
In essence, it all came down to one sentence: With resources, comes the luxury of being picky.
Even with such rigorous selection, it took just over an hour to fill the live fish box behind him. There had to be at least twenty carefully chosen large yellow croakers, each one at least four or five pounds.
