If she hadn’t married Jun Mochan and refrained from exposing Xie Yuan for fear of tarnishing Jun Mochan’s reputation, how could she have willingly suffered such loss?
"Smack, smack." The sound of a slap came from behind the bookshelf.
Xie Yuan emerged, and with a smirking smile, he addressed Ye Ranran. "Miss Ye, long time no see."
"What are you doing here?" Ye Ranran instinctively stepped back.
Xie Yuan gave her a curious look, enjoying her fear. "Your dad invited me over."
Ye Ranran glanced at her father, and he nodded affirmatively. "I had a hunch you wouldn’t listen, so I asked Mr. Xie to wait here for you."
"Fine, you can leave now. I want to chat with Ranran." Xie Yuan said impatiently.
Her father left, and casually closed the door on his way out.
Ye Ranran wanted to leave, but she was a moment too late. She backed up to the door, gathering her composure. "There’s nothing for us to talk about."
"Jun Mochan sabotaged my financing and ruined my restaurant’s reputation, causing my business to plummet. Don’t you think we need to have a discussion about that?"
Ye Ranran was stunned, she never imagined that Jun Mochan had done so much on her behalf.
Xie Yuan grabbed her chin with his big hand. "A little dazed, are we? How cute."
Ye Ranran jerked his hand away. "That has nothing to do with me. If you want to pick a fight, go find my husband. You’re picking on me because you can’t beat him, right?"
Xie Yuan looked at her, her lips moving rapidly. Suddenly, he leaned in.
Ye Ranran quickly covered her mouth. "What are you trying to do?"
"Quick response." Xie Yuan’s eyes shone with a strange gleam. "Tell me, how do you think Jun Mochan would react if he saw you moaning under me?"
Ye Ranran clamped her mouth shut, turned to run, but the door was locked from the outside.
"Jun Mochan." Ye Ranran screamed.
"Stop calling for him, your study is soundproof, you know." Xie Yuan said coldly.
A faint sense of despair washed over Ye Ranran, but she defiantly stared at Xie Yuan. "If you touch me, I’ll kill myself. And then we’ll see whether my husband lets you off."
Looking at her defiant and proud face, Xie Yuan found a hint of admiration. No wonder Jun Mochan was drawn to her.
Beautiful and proud women were always especially alluring.
Seeing that Xie Yuan kept quiet, just staring at her, she felt her skin crawl in fear.
Perhaps realizing her fear, Xie Yuan gave her a faint smile.
Little did he know his smile increased her apprehension.
"Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you here. I just wanted to tell you..."
Xie Yuan suddenly grabbed Ye Ranran in a tight embrace.
Ye Ranran struggled violently. "Let go, let me go."
Xie Yuan held her tight, his tall figure overpowering her. She was paralyzed with fear.
The advantage of being a man was never more evident.
He leaned in and whispered in her ear, "What Jun Mochan did to me will be paid back to you. Of course, if you’re willing to please me, I might consider letting you go."
"Get lost." Ye Ranran’s face hardened. "Do whatever you want. I, Ye Ranran, am not afraid."
Xie Yuan held her chin up with one hand and leaned in.
Just as he was about to reach her, a knock on the door came just in time. "Ranran, are you okay?"
"Jun Mochan, come save me!" Ye Ranran shouted.
"Such a shame." Xie Yuan caressed her face one last time before reluctantly departing.
