"I first met Gao Han right here." Ye Ranran said, pointing towards the small grove.
Jun Mochan scoffed, "You first met him in a small grove?"
Hearing the implications in his words, Ye Ranran pinched his waist, "You’re overthinking it. I climbed the tree to read a book when I felt hot. Out of nowhere, I fell from the tree and hit Gao Han."
The initial encounter was not so pleasant, rather a bit of an embarrassment. But she agreed to be with him after Gao Han chased after her relentlessly.
They got together in a fuzzy state and over time, she gradually fell in love with him.
"Once upon a time, I thought we would be together forever, just tree." Ye Ranran said, running her hands along the tree trunk.
Jun Mochan coldly chortled, "I didn’t come here to listen to you reminisce about your ex-boyfriend."
Hearing the jealousy in his words, Ye Ranran held his hand tighter, "I brought you here to forget about him. Where we started, we end."
"Really? I never knew Mrs. Jun could climb trees too." Jun Mochan looked at the heavily foliaged tree.
Ye Ranran’s cheeks turned a bit red, feeling both ashamed and annoyed, "The tree wasn’t so high back then. There were many people around and some nasty noises. I climbed up simply to find some peace."
"Really? I’ve never seen Mrs. Jun climb a tree. Should we relive the memory?" Jun Mochan asked, looking at the towering tree.
Ye Ranran looked at him like he has lost his mind, "Why on earth would I want to climb a tree now?"
In addition, it’s night and she hasn’t eaten yet. How does she have the energy to climb a tree?
"Be a good girl and climb up for me." Jun Mochan insisted, for some odd reason.
Ye Ranran, having no other choice, climbed up the tree.
Having not climbed in years, her skills were rusty. Plus, she was wearing a dress. After much effort, she finally made it up the tree.
She stood on the tree branch and waved at Jun Mochan, "See, I climbed up, didn’t I?"
The branch wasn’t too high, just above a metre. Jun Mochan reached out his arms, "Come, jump down. I’ll catch you."
Ye Ranran burst into laughter, "Mr. Jun, we’re both grownups, aren’t we too old for these games?"
"I like it. Come, jump down." Jun Mochan held out his arms.
His gaze was very serious. His eyes were deep like the ocean, brimming with affection. A single glance could drown one’s reason.
His gaze made Ye Ranran’s heart skip a beat. She stared at Jun Mochan for a moment, not detecting a trace of amusement.
Ye Ranran’s smile faded slightly.
"Honey, I’m jumping down, you have to catch me." Ye Ranran leapt off the branch, closing her eyes as she descended.
The anticipated pain did not arrive as Jun Mochan caught her safely.
Ye Ranran, being petite and under a hundred pounds, was effortlessly caught by Jun Mochan.
The cool scent in his arms was intoxicating, and the warmth welcoming. Ye Ranran slowly opened her eyes.
"From now on, you can only remember me catching you right here." Jun Mochan stated authoritatively while holding her in his arms.
No wonder he insisted on her jumping, he was just jealous.
Ye Ranran obediently stayed in his embrace, resting her head on his shoulder, "Do you know? When I ran into trouble, all I could think of was you. When would you notice I was gone? When would you find me?"
"I’ll get you a couple of bodyguards when we get back." Jun Mochan suggested in a serious tone.
Ye Ranran pouted, "Can I refuse?"
