"Xiao Qi, it’s best you don’t involve yourself in my affairs. They’re not something you can handle, understand?" Her situation was complex, and the people around her were ruthless.
It would be best if she wasn’t implicated, else she could end up devoured to the bone.
Thinking about the things Ye Ranran had experienced before, Luo Qi instinctively shrunk back. She wanted to deny it, but upon seeing Ye Ranran’s unwavering determination, she nodded.
After the driver dropped them off at the nearest mall and Ye Ranran went inside, he reported to Jun Mochan.

"This one’s pretty good. Many of the styles are new and quite unique. Look at this color block..." Ye Ranran picked up a piece of clothing and began explaining it to Luo Qi.
"I know." Luo Qi replied, a gloomy expression on her face. She was well aware of the brand’s reputation.
But didn’t she notice how the salespeople’s expressions had changed?
In retail, the workers only got commission if something was sold; if they just browsed without buying, while the salesperson couldn’t assist other customers, it was weird if they didn’t have a bad attitude.
"It doesn’t matter." Ye Ranran, noticing Luo Qi’s implied worry, comforted her.
She handed the piece she had been looking at to the saleswoman and pointed at another item in the window, saying, "I want to try that one on."
"Miss, are you going to buy anything or not?" The saleswoman asked impatiently.
"I’ll take a look first." Ye Ranran replied gracefully.
She was actually contemplating whether to take the item and let the salesperson assist other customers or to reluctantly purchase something.
Her wardrobe was already overflowing with clothes which Jun Mochan had prepared for her, and since she rarely wore them, she wondered if buying more would be a waste.
"If you’re not buying, don’t bother." The saleswoman replied curtly.
Ye Ranran’s smile didn’t falter, "Miss, there shouldn’t be a rule in your store that one has to buy something if they look, right?"
"If you can’t afford it, then don’t look. Everybody’s time is precious." The saleswoman sneered at Ye Ranran, "Looking at your fancy clothes, they’re all knock-offs, aren’t they?"
"Oh, I thought I was seeing things. It indeed is Designer Ye." A coquettish voice rang from the entrance of the shop.
Ye Ranran looked up to see Feng Xi’s irritating face.
"Why are you here?" On spotting Feng Xi, Luo Qi defensively stepped in front of Ye Ranran.
Feng Xi sauntered in from outside, followed by four assistants.
On seeing her, the saleswoman immediately switched to a kinder attitude, "Miss Feng, you’re here."
"Yes, wrap up your newest collections for me," Feng Xi declared grandly. She glanced around the shop, pointed to the piece Ye Ranran was holding, and added, "Including the one she’s holding."
"Alright, please wait a moment." The saleswoman nodded and bowed deferentially.
"Look at her showing off." Luo Qi muttered.
"If you can’t afford it, don’t even window shop. Otherwise, you’ll only be left with envy," Feng Xi remarked casually, looking at her own nails and ignoring Luo Qi.
"Who can’t afford it? We aren’t impressed by your selections." Luo Qi raised her voice.
But often, those who speak loudly are the ones who feel most insecure.
Luo Qi indeed couldn’t afford it. Her family was comfortable, but not wealthy enough to afford her luxuries. Now that she was working, she couldn’t ask her family for money.
Huacan’s salary wasn’t low, but it wasn’t enough for her to afford such luxury goods.
She wasn’t as lucky as Ye Ranran, who had a rich husband.
